Update BIOS First!
Comment:
Great hardware, but system will not post with newest CPU's without updating the BIOS first! Must update the BIOS using the Intel Recovery method to flash the new BIOS prior to system boot. |

Awesome Product
Comment:
Theres not much that needs to be said about Intel products. They are always high quality and smooth operating. I had an experience several years ago with intel. The board was 2 years old and died. Called tech support and they sent replacement without any stress. Wil always use Intel. |

Great board
Comment:
Super good motherboard. New 2 chip design. They got ride of the old legacy ports which arent needed anymore. No ps2,serial,parallel,IDE. Just plenty of USB. Even has an internal USB for Readyboost flash sticks. Great motherboard for audio production. The lack of old ports, opens up space for PCI cards so they dont share IRQ numbers. Dedicated IRQ is what you want for PCI cards for low latency, glitch free audio. |

Intel BOXDP55KG ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Probably not the best for SLI/XFire
Pros:Bluetooth, BIOS, Build quality Comment:
Got this motherboard for my new i7 860 and I'm happy with it. The built in Bluetooth is a nice touch. I did look at other brands with their higher phase power count but if you look it up, that's just a marketing ploy. I don't plan on running SLI with my GTX 260 so the drop down to 8x/8x on the PCI-E isn't an issue. |
I am not able to sync my iPod. Intel told me this is a known issue with the DP55KG. I wish I had known before I built my computer.
