Intel Core i5 2320 Quad Core Hyperthreadinig Processor 3.0GHZ LGA1155 6MB Cache 95W Retail Box
Cons:-Multiplier is locked, less overclocking potential
Pros:Great performance, not too pricey Comment:
I purchased this processor and paired it with an H67 motherboard, as I did not expect to overclock the processor. Even without overclocking, this is a powerful processor that will certainly last quite a while. To future buyers, if you do expect to overclock, you must take a few things into consideration. The only LGA1155 processors with unlocked multipliers are the i5 2500k and i7 2600k/2700k. The 'k' denotes an unlocked multiplier. the i5 2500 (without the 'k') for example, does not have an unlocked multiplier. Also, when searching for motherboards, there are essentially 3 choices. H67, P67, and Z68. The H67 allows only for limited overclocking potential. If you are looking to overclock an i5 2500k, buy a P67 or Z68. |
While, obviously, this isn't the best processor out there, I think it delivers in the bang for the buck department. It hasn't crapped out on me or anything after a couple years of use.
