I have completed a new power efficient build using this Haswell CPU, no dedicated GPU, an MSI H87M-G43 Mobo, and low voltage Mushkin RAM. The system is whisper quiet even under reasonable load. I upgraded from a Nahalem Q6600 Quad core CPU and the upgrade is noticable. I am preparing to begin a major video transcoding project so this CPU will really pay dividends.It was easy to mount, is very quiet, and is a major step up in CPU muscle. The integrated 4600 graphics chipset is decent. I do some light gaming and the graphics are solid at 1080. I am not interested in overclocking so the K model was not considered. This CPU still has the Turbo mode to boost the Ghz up a bit. Very happy over all. |
So far this CPU is running great and is keeping cool with the factory heat sink.
