Intel Core i5 I5-4590 Haswell 3.3GHZ Processor LGA1150 6MB Cache Retail
Cons:- Poorly priced compared to the Core I5-4690K which you should definitely consider if you want to overclock
Pros:- Best non-overclokable processor you can get without burning your wallet with a Core I7- Cool and quiet, although not silent with the stock cooler Comment:
High performance processor by Intel. Perhaps the best processor you could get without overclocking, without considering the more expensive Core I7. Runs cool and quiet with the stock cooler, but it not silent. For a few more dollars, I would highly suggest looking into the Core I5-4690K which can be overclocked. |

Intel Core i5 I5-4590 Haswell 3.3GHZ Processor LGA1150 6MB Cache Retail
Cons:Not overclockable
Pros:Good performance, even for competitive gaming.Low power consumptionLow temperature Comment:
For internet browsing, movie watching, playing most recent games, and day to day operations, this CPU is perfect. The temperature are also pretty good, it stays bellow 35 at idle and bellow 60 at full load (with stock cooler). However, this CPU might not good if:- You want to overclock. (you need a K cpu for that)- You run applications that make good uses of 8 cores, such as video edition. Or if you want to run alot of application simultaneously, In this case, a i7 would be a better choice. |

Intel Core i5 I5-4590 Haswell 3.3GHZ Processor LGA1150 6MB Cache Retail
Cons:Price (an intel problem)No overclockability (again an intel problem)
Pros:Solid performanceQuad coreGood turboAmazing idle powerLow temps Comment:
Got this for my new build paired with:Gigabyte Z87X-UD3HMushkin DDR3-1600 StealthMushkin Chronos Deluxe 480GBGeforce GTX 670Corsair VX550Coolermaster Hyper121 EvoFractal Design R4 BlackoutInstallation and setup was a breeze. Boots up to windows in 15-20 seconds (I know this is mostly due to the SSD), achieves a rating of 7.6 :P, and runs every single game that I throw at it without a single hiccup. Now on to the specifics: with the Coolermaster Hyper121, the idle temps are a very very low 35C inside the silent case. Even at high (not full) load playing games and such, it only rises to a lukewarm 45C! When paired up with an idle power draw of about 15W for the whole CPU package as shown in AIDA64, the efficiency of the Haswell architecture is undeniable. Now onto the bad isn't truly specific to this processor model but for Intel on the whole. Due to their "prestige" and performance advantage over AMD, I feel there's a bit of price gouging going on with the i5 and i7 CPU range by Intel. And to release a completely separate processor simply for over clocking (K models) is another money grab move in my opinion. Take that for what you will but this processor does come up with the goods with its excellent performance and efficiency. |
