Very happy with this chip.Has given me results im happy with, overclocked it stable from its base 3.4ghz to 5.0ghz with hardly any effort, and most people i know can get theirs to 4.5ghz+ as well.Be it for multitasking or gaming, its a solid performer.Even now with Ivy bridge on the market, i still recommend it.

Blistering speedLow operating temperaturesDid I mention blistering speed?Many cores Can't feel of any I was afraid that the much more energy hungry Intel Sandy Bridge and a lot more powerful graphics card would boost noise and temperature in my Computer when I upgraded from my Core 2 DUO and less potent graphics card.To my surprise, not only is my new configuration QUIETER (whisper quiet!) the temperatures are far LOWER than ahead of. I'm operating at 32C most of the time. Can run eight simutaneous threads. Somewhat overclockable. Has some great functions. Got mine for 220 somewhere just before the price went throught the roof.Greatest CPU I ever owned. Runs hot. Stock heatsink unusable. The value now must just about spend for any design mistakes, previous and future. Nevertheless cannot run FSX maxed but thats a software package style issue. Idles @ 40c, topped out at 69c below load, 30c Ambient case temp, 4000 MHz, 1.31v Running it in the MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) with an Antec liquid KUHLER, beefier PWM fan, consistant 12v to the pump. 16 GBs DDR3 1866. HD5850, two OCZ SSDs R0, Win 7 64 rates it 7.7. Prime 95, 64, V25.11 build2, priority 7, with 1.6 MBs RAM allocated completed 10, In place substantial ffts in 11.5 minutes. Will require a genuine water setup to take it higher.

It's the fastest CPU on the planet , even more rapidly than the core i7 980x and 990x when slightly overclocked, speaking of mine has been capable to hit 4.7GHZ liquid cooled. It runs hot, its thermal max is 72.6C thats about 163F beneath total load prime 95 all 8 thread , its get to about 175 to 185f, and did I mention that its liquid cooled. But even running that hot it nevertheless doesn't miss a beat

Overclocked to 4.4GHz on my GA-P67A-UD4 by merely cranking up the gpu multiplier to 44 (NOTHING ELSE WAS TOUCHED... voltage was all auto-adjusted). Can you say "Easy overclock?" Tested in prime95 and Pc is entirely stable, and have been placing it by way of its paces with lengthy hours of gaming in Crysis 1/Warhead/Crysis two/Mafia two. I got this puppy paired with a Zalman 9900 Max: idle temp @ 20-28c and load temp @ 48-58c. I'm positive I could push it further tempwise, but who needs ultra quick when they currently got mega rapidly? None, it's perfect Matched my expectations to the letter. I came from a Core 2 duo E6600 @ 3.4GHz and when I upgraded my video card to a GTX 570 I was horribly bottlenecked in Crysis. Fps would jump between 30-45 @ incredibly high, up from 20-26 on my GTX 275. Once I got my 2600k, FPS shot above 50 and stayed there. An additional game it made a Huge distinction in was BFBC2. Even with my old video card, that game runs Wonderful when coupled with this processor, which bodes properly for future games that tension multicores.Now do I regret not obtaining a 2500k, you're almost certainly wondering? If you're making a gaming rig, the 2500k is additional than enough IMHO, so save your self the 贄 and put that toward an SSD. I went with the 2600k because I thought hyper-threading would future proof it, but that's probably just me getting paranoid.

I popped this onto an Asus Maximus IV Extreme Rev. three. along with 8GBs of Mushkin Enhanced Redline Ridgeback PC3-12800 with a Corsair H-70 watercooler and Windows 7 Pro SP1. Immediately after letting the thermal paste set up, I let the mobo BIOS do it's Turbo Boost, and the technique didn't even blink, going from 3.four to three.8 & 1.26VCore. Then I played with the Auto Tuning software from Asus and let it move the clock up to four.26 and 1.325VCore. Yet again, the CPU took it like absolutely nothing had happened, except for the fact that a incredibly quickly program was now extremely fast. Ran Prime95, BurnIn Pro, several benchmark apps, and a ton of games and the CPU under no circumstances missed a beat. None I've been overclocking rigs given that ྟ, and this child has been the easiest and the most comfy to operate with. The head room on this point is massive. This was for a client create, so I didn't go all out like I normally do. Once I have one of these for myself, I'm gonna push it up to the 5.0GHz and beyond. ;-)If you want stable, quick and highly overclockable, this is the 1 to get.

I purchased that around Dec 2011 and so far it performed flawlessly. Excellent speed. Using ASUS P8Z68-V Pro GEN3 + Noctua D14 I am running the machine at 4.8Ghz without any issues so far. It is a good product.

Excellent CPU with great, one click “Turbo Enhance” 3.8GHz OC assistance in GUI BIOS on my Asus Sabertooth P67/TUF motherboard. A lot more OC and handle by means of Asus DIGI+VRM and TurboV GUI utils. Quite fantastic overall performance although multitasking with media trans-coding, 3D rendering and virtualization. Itsy, bitsy box. This box is the smallest I've seen since my last PIII and even that was bigger. No sweat, it was just unexpected. Of course, it could be smaller, if they ditched the "this is as cheap as we could possibly make it and still run the processor" stock heatsink and fan. During initial testing I used the stock fan and it seemed to keep the CPU relatively cool, although I didn't stress it much. One thing I will say, and that is the stock fan is certainly quiet! But I'll be replacing it with a more robust aftermarket cooler ASAP anyway. I actually found the onboard graphics convenient (I don't normally build systems with onboard), in that I didn't need to install a graphics card for initial out-of-case testing. I got it on sale, plus a small pricematch, bringing it to just a hair under $300. There's really not much more to say, other than this processor is probably the best of Sandy Bridge in terms of features and performance, short of the marginally faster 2700K. The Ivy Bridge nearest equivalent, the 3770K, currently costs significantly more than this processor, so this was a fair tradeoff. An overclocked i5 2500K can possibly come close to matching it core for core, but the 2500K has 6 MB of cache versus 8 MB for the 2600K, and lacks hyperthreading, so the 2600K can handle 8 simultaneous threads versus 4. Would I buy another? Well, I'm not planning on building another system anytime soon, and by the time I do I expect these will no longer be available, so the point is moot. BTW, this is one of the few products that I have seen with 178 customer reviews and every one of them gives it five stars! Now there are 179. Maybe I should take off a star for the crummy HSF. Naw, why ruin a perfect score.

I.dropped this issue on the floor taking it out of the packaging, nevertheless works wahoo. Hit difficult also from like 5'. Genuinely rapid so far haven't even overclocked it but. Got WEI of 7.9 with it. The heatsink is fairly puny. Got the cooler master v8. Factor is massive like an engine block hanging from my mobo.

Quick. Doesn't heat up the space None (not going to mention value as I knew what I was undertaking and there are options). Hadn't made a bleeding edge machine in years. Sandy Bridge got me off the dime to do so. Oh so fast.

This is an amazing processor with great overclocking. You could not ask for more out of a quad core at this time and the hyper threading on it is great addition if you are using intensive applications. I would recommend buying the i5 if you are just going to game though.

Probably the most overused i7 out there, sorry guys! But I'm going with my trusty i7 3930K, 6 cores of awesomeness and 12MB's of level 3 cache.

This is a solid proc, does everything you need and more. OC-ability is good assuming you have a decent cooler and mobo.It's an intel, you're paying a bit extra for that stability, that extra testing that Intel does. When it comes to the CPU, I don't mind paying extra for a high quality component.

extremely quick for the price effectively worth 300 none got effectively what i paid for its well worth it for the cpu speed even though if you don't have the budget for it then you can afford to go with one thing lower because absolutely nothing really comes close to taping into the cpu power as of now

Ideal CPU ON Marketplace NOW. HT make it grow to be 8 threads, that's 20ㅖ% greater than Quad core with four treads CPU. Integrated Graphics grow to be useless. what kind of people will get H67 OR H61 board if they have 2600K? COME ON INTEL. P67 must come with VGA output.

This is a very good processor for over clocking. Running mine at 4.8 produces not too much heat. An air cooled heatsink and fan can easily dissipate the heat generated by it.
