at first i went with the i5 2500k but then i went and purchased the i7 2600k, this thing is a lot better for multitasking exactly what i needed.

This CPU performs better than expected. It OC great. Was able to get 4.7 GHz stable on one rig and 4.6 on another. Would highly recommend it.

Great CPU. I've had it for about 6 months running in two of my developers machines. No complaints about compile times. Could be over clocked if we had more cooling. Awesome for gaming.

What an awesome chip! My motherboard and system make it easy to overclock and this chip can take much more than the other components I have without an extra cooling system. I am not much of a power user but bought this very capable chip so that it will run as cool as possible to last a long time. Given that the temperature of this chip, even when overclocked 15%, has risen so little for the games I use, I am very pleased. Make sure to look around the NCIX website as well as price matching as the price in January was at $306 and should be even better now. I had a friend install the i5 2500K chip and he has not been as satisfied - not sure if it is the chip or something else.

Overclocks well and is a big jump from my Intel Core2 Duo... I use to use a Core2 Duo E7200 overclocked to 3.6Ghz, and the efficiency variations is very noticeable. None!

Performs close to the very best desktop processors on the marketplace and costs less than half as a lot. 1 of the hooks on the mounting bracket bent in the course of installation but was able to be bent back in location with tweezers. This think that runs a lot cooler than my i7-860. I mean a lot. Stock i was idling 25ቺc and complete load primed 48ነc. I just o'c it this week to four.5ghz with extremely small work and nevertheless below complete load i am hitting 55ኘc. At 4ghz my 860 use to hit 70c+ so yeah. Really happy. None so far i am having some freeze up issues but its due to a unfriendly connection among my motherboard and my ram. If the next few generations are cooler and able to hit such high speeds without having need to have for extreme cooling i will be additional than happy to upgrade just about every time it comes out.

really quickly. Overclocks incredibly nicely. I had it up to four.6 on air without having any adjustments in voltage. Its been five years because I've upgradged my pc, its seriously hard to beleive how rapid they are now. Windows 7 boots in a matter of a couple of seconds. Sandy Bridge motherboards were recalled; much more of an annoyance than a con. There's no reason to get a "non K" model at this price tag point. If you're not going to overclock, just stick with an I5.

It has Hyper threading but as of my knowledge, I don't beleive any OS has been able to split threads anyways.

Havn't upgraded in 6 years. This chip is super fast! 4 cores makes multimedia and image processing rock. You have to have software that supports multiple cores to really notice that huge of a difference

J'ai acheté ce processeur pour un nouveau gaming système que je me suis offert à Noel dernier. Malheureusement, par distraction, je me suis trompé de processeur. J'ai commandé ce processeur socket LGA1155 pour accompagner une carte-mère Sabertooth X79 socket 2011...quel idiot !! En plus je l'avais price-matché à $295.99. Au moment de l'installation, je me suis bien rendu compte qu'il était totalement incompatible avec la Sabertooth X79. Malgré le fait que je l'ai eu chez moi plus longtemps que la période de grâce de 15 jours pour un remboursement et en plus que j'avais ouvert la boîte, NCIX ont gentiemment accepté de me rembourser sans pénalité...Merci les mecs !!

Upgraded to this beast from an e7200.... I'm extremely pleased to have gotten rid of that bottleneck. Almost everything is so smooth and just ridiculously rapid now. You don't even need to have to overclock it, unless you are carrying out some really hardcore gaming, or you render quite a bit. To sum it up.... Very best processor I've ever owned hands down. Unlocked multiplier, low cost, , overclocks like a champ, 8 threads, low heat, simple installation; heatsink pins lock on uncomplicated now, so no worries about annihilating your motherboard anymore! None. Obtain it, you won't regret it.
