Comment:
OUTSTANDING for the price! none It's already been mentioned, so sweet & brief. Overclocks at the snap of a finger. Overclocks less difficult and greater than other chips I've played with. Personally I wouldn't invest in the initial gen I7-9xx chips any additional. Unless you're a challenging-core overclocker with the I7-980X and 3 or four graphics cards in thoughts. SB typically out paces them clock for clock and at commonly less price. As stated, make certain you get a superior 2nd party cooler. Plenty of superior air coolers available so do your analysis nicely. I agree with other individuals here. If you're going to go the 5/ghz+ range, consider water cooling! |

Intel Core i7-2600K Processor 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop
Cons:-Stock Heat sink
Pros:-Fast-Very effective multitasking-Easy and effective Overclocking Comment:
I bought the 2600k during the boxing week sale with a Asus p8z68 Motherboard and Corsair h100 cooler for a price I could not resist (sub $300). From the first time I booted I loved this chip. I do a variety of tasks with my system. Everything from media server transcoding and streaming to my TV in a different room to playing mainstream games (BF3, Batman AC)or both!(ie playing BF3 while streaming and Transcoding 1080p video. This CPU is very easy to overclock and was auto tuned to 4.5GHz out of the box while retaining all the variable frequencies and voltages that keep the temperature and power consumption low at idle. The only downside I have is the heat sink that come with the Chip. I recently had to RMA the H100 that I bought with this chip, by doing so I had to put the stock Cooler on until my new H100 came in. the first thing I noticed was a vibrating/ Rubbing noise upon its first boot. this noise stayed for a couple days and eventually went away (probably rubbed away). I don't recommend using Intel's Heatsink with this chip. runs too hot and I don't trust it. All in all. Paired with a good air, or water cooler, this CPU is a beast and will effectively manage all your processes. ) |

Currently paired with Sabertooth P67 and it's incredible. Busts through anything and everything, easily over-clocked with proper cooling, most applications and games can't push it past 60% load. |

Cons:- Expensive to buy but it is not really a con
Pros:- 8 cores- Unlocked Comment:
I got this on sale for $300 which made it worth paying extra to get this instead of the i5 2500k. Got this to upgrade from my old rig and works just fine. Just remember to not use the stock heatsink which most of you already know. |

Intel Core i7-2600K Processor 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop
Cons:Its warmer than my old 45nm AMD chip X6 on a H-100 watercooler.
Pros:FastOverclockableGood bang for buck Comment:
Paired this with a p8z68-v Pro motherboard and a 16 gig kit of Corsair vengeance Ram. Runs flawlessly. Ram is ddr3-1600 cl9-9-9-24 4X4 kit. Was expecting issues with all the ram slots full but absolutely no problems at all. This thing is fast. After it was all installed in my New stormtrooper by coolermaster I checked out the Bios. Wow.. Am I happy to say I don't miss the old crappy bios. The mobo supports that new fangled GUI bios and with an EZ mode for overclocking. I clicked it and it overclocked my Ram and CPU. Temps are around 65 degrees at 4.4+ Ghz. Probably could get better but I ran out of thermal paste so had to smear what little I had on. Now that intel has that "overclock" warranty you can buy I don't see why you wouldn't get one of these and try for 5.0Ghz. |

Intel Core i7-2600K Processor 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop
Cons:-None at all. Really I have no cons.
Pros:-Got it on sale and this proc rocks. Comment:
My current rig is at the end of its life cycle. I upgraded the video last year and I decided to go with this to replace my Q6600 while I could get some money for it to subsidize my new chip(this one). If I was to upgrade within a year say to Ivy Bridge I would have gone with a cheaper proc, but since I tend to keep cpus for a while, getting this on a bundle deal for an excellent price was a no brainer for me. I game and multitask, and the extra juiciness this one offers over the 2500K is just gravy. Highly recommended. |

Installed the Corsair H60 Liquid Cooler excellent combination with the GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3 mobo. Also going to be upgrading the ram to 16gb from Corsair soon. |

Pros:Unbelievable! I have nothing else to say other than this CPU is the best of the best. Incredible stability, fantastic overclock. Comment:
Managed a somewhat stable 5.2Ghz overclock at 1.4V! Sitting now at 4.8Ghz at 1.3V... I don't think I have been able to achieve such an efficient overclock with any other CPU. Note though, that not all 2600K's can overclock as well... but still a great CPU! |

Intel Core i7-2600K Processor 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop
Comment:
Running reliably at four.5GHz at default voltages utilizing a Noctua NH-D14 cooler. Running a small cooler than my iCore7 Bloomfield (running at 3.3GHz) which has a Thermalright Ultra 120 on it which is comparable to the Noctua. Not actually a con, but there are no architectural improvements that matter between the Bloomfield and the Sandy Bridge. The performance running Verilog simulations is identical to the Bloomfield (normalized for clock rate) so the only acquire is the higher clock rate. The 1155 package only supports two DIMM channels which limits it to 16G of RAM, the 1366 socket has three DIMM channels which gives you 24G. |

Pros:-Fast-Cheap-Easily overclockable Comment:
This a very good processor. Relativly cheap. Easily overclockable up to 5.0Ghz. The processing power is impressive. All the lastest game don't take more than 30% of the total processor time.I have this processor running at 4.6ghz. I cool it with a custom watercooling loop on a EK HF water block. Temp are around 42-48C. |
What can I say that hasn't been said.. this chip is amazing...
