Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz LGA 2011 Desktop Processor
Cons:Fewer PCIX lanes vs. 5930k
Pros:6 Cores HTQuad Channel Memory"Budget" X99 based processor (at time of purchase) Comment:
Nice upgrade from my last Gen 2 2***k processor, especially the memory bandwidth which pretty much doubled - huge difference when encoding videos and the likes.I took this processor right from the box into my new rig, and clocked it to 4.7ghz without a hitch (EVGA X99 FTW board cooled with Swiftech Apogee XL block)For the guys running single GPU card, this processor is for you. This is a beast. It will eat whatever you throw at it and smile at you for more. Excellent purchase, although pricey, it is to be expected with new products.I expect this system will last me over 4yrs like my previous 2nd gen system. |

Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz LGA 2011 Desktop Processor
Cons:None
Pros:6 cores baby!Overclocks like a champ.Good price for this much power. Comment:
I got this with an Asus X99-A motherboard and a Kraken X31 cooler. This is my first time overclocking and I was a bit nervous. But no worries at all, it took me a while to play around with all the options for Asus overclocking, but I am now happy with a stable 4.4ghz.Love this... :) |
This is my first high end build that I have done and I must say, I am very impressed. I purchased this processor to speed up Render times for YouTube Videos as well as Streaming and recording. I managed to Overclock this bad boy to 4.5 ghz stable at 1.31 V using the H105 to cool it. I used to be running an AMD Phenom II x4 955 processor prior and I have immediately noticed a different in games, not just higher frame rate in games that I was CPU bound in, but also the frames seemed a lot more consistent and not constantly dropping. I was either going to go X99 or go Z97 with a 4790k but I decided to spend a little more and do X99 and I am glad that I did!
