Cons:matching board and ram can get quite expensive.
Pros:Very fast, good price, overclocks easy even on air Comment:
Bought one of these for a home 3D workstation, very satisfied with this product as it leaves my old desktop in the dust. Overclocked to 4.0ghz with a H50 |

Cons:nothing
Pros:Very fastVery low stock voltage!Absurdly easy to overclock Comment:
I got a new pc with this cpu recently and man its fast. It also overclocks so easy! I played around in the bios for 10 minutes and just for fun i overclocked to 4.4ghz (ya, 4.4) and i managed to post and boot to windows in 2 attempts. Zomfg! It keeps surprising me on just how few volts its taking me to do it too! Awsome cpu! This review was modfied by poster @ 02-28-10 03:22 AM |

Cons:Might want to wait for the next platform and just get a gpu for now.
Pros:Will overclock easily to the i7 975 3.33 ghz Comment:
Nothing more to say. Except that you really want to get the d0 stepping, because when these things become obsolete the c0 will be worth nothing and the d0 will give you a VISIBLE performance boost, when pushed at max |

Cons:Crummy Stock Cooler
Pros:FastGood ValueIntel Quality Comment:
My first Intel build in 2 years. This chip is everything they say it is - fast and easily clocked to 3.4GHz (with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus). Performance is outstanding with decent thermals that don't require outrageous amounts of airflow. Pretty happy with this piece. |

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 -SLBEJ-
Cons:None Yet
Pros:Fast, Easy to Overclock, Can get the power of 1.5 CPUs for the price of one! (2.66 vs 4Ghz) Comment:
There's multiple versions of the i7 architechture but this one is the best bang for the buck. The high end chips (965, 975) do have unlocked multipliers but as far as stock speed they still only go up to 3.2GHz at a cost of $1000. You can get this chip up to 3.6-3.8 reliably for daily use for the cost of a good heatsink. To me that's a great deal. 1366 is also the next generation which means the board you use this chip on will also support the upcoming 6-core 32nm chips, pretty much a no-brainer. |

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 -SLBEJ-
Cons:-LGA1366 socket: meaning more expensive MB, and triple channel RAM required-Can get quite hot so be prepared to buy aftermarket CPU heatsink
Pros:-Overclocking beast-More power than you need-Great value when compared to other 1366 socket CPUs! Comment:
The i7 920 needs no introduction. The D0 revision will overclock easier at lower voltages and hence generate less heat. |

Cons:- not yet discovered
Pros:- easy overclock- stable performance- 1366 socket Comment:
i picked it up about a month ago and pair it with my p6t se mobo. it performs amazingly even before the oc while generating reasonable amount of heat. the 1366 socket is the starting of the next generation cpus, so recommend to switch over :). havent had any issues with the cpu. |

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 -SLBEJ-
Cons:-wish it were cheaper
Pros:-fast-easy to overclock Comment:
It was my first time purchasing my own parts to build a pc. I chose the i7 920 because it was cheaper than the higher end models and the only difference were the clock speed. So I saved money by buying the i7 920 and just overclocking it. |

Cons:None.
Pros:Good overclocker.Good price. Comment:
I have overclocked it to 4ghz at 1.27v on air, temps were a little high at 53c idle 78c full load. This chip is a beast and will easily overclock. |

Cons:None that i can think about
Pros:Overclock like a champ, and very easily too !Fast !!! (Easy to reach 3.8Ghz on this thing) Comment:
I got my new PC since a while now and all i can say is that this CPU is amazing. He will take any overclock you'll throw at him if you got the cooling to keep temp acceptable.I don't regret paying a bit more to be sure to get a D0 stepping. If you don't know what is a D0 stepping, its the one you should get ! ;) |

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 -SLBEJ-
Cons:A bit expensive if you combine the x58 and need for triple channel ram
Pros:Great cpu, good overclocking capacity. Comment:
Nice CPU with good overclocking potential. I did OC a C0 before and the volt + temperature of this stepping is better. The problem wiht x58 platform is the p55. The x58 mobo are more ex^pensive and the need for triple channel ram make it even more expensive. |

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 -SLBEJ-
Cons:Price
Pros:Rock SolidReally no need for overclocking, even for high end gamingNever runs above 45 degrees with aftermarket heatsink Comment:
Overall, this CPU is a great buy. I was aiming for a high end PC, which is why I shelled out 500 bucks for this CPU and ASUS P6T SE. I would do it again, given the same cash and goal. If you are just buying it for regular PC use (browse web, email, watch the occasional move), don't.Real weakness here is the price. Since it's still brand new. So far, no problem at all. |

Cons:None.
Pros:D0 model, 2.66GHZ can be overclocked. Comment:
I bought this as opposed to the original 920 because the D0 was newer and it was cheaper when price matched vs the normal one. I am not sure if there is a significant difference, but I have yet to overclock it. Besides that it runs great in the setup and I am glad I bought it. |

Cons:none
Pros:Fast as hell Comment:
if you overclock, the intel 920 is an amazing deal for performance. still more expensive than an core 2,i5, or an amd chip, but more performance.if you don't overclock, it is still fast and reliable and will still outperform any non-i7 chips at stock speed. |

Cons:Runs way too hot with stock cooler.
Pros:Fastest out there Comment:
Running at 4.0 since day one using a Thermalright True Black to cool. Core voltage is at 1.3v. Given the capability of this processor, why would anyone not want to run it faster? No problems with CPU and would buy again. |

Cons:-runs warm
Pros:-Fast and relatively cheep-8 threads Comment:
Running this on a P6X58D with 12GB of G.Skill PC12800 and it easily ran 4GHz at 1.2635V. Definately more room to overclock. Paired up with a Noctua NH-D14 and OCZ+5 its runs 65C full load. |

Cons:You need a Very high end air cooler to push these chips. Not really a weakness as anyone overclocking on stock cooling should get a slap!
Pros:Great overclocker Requires less Vcore than previous steppingswill hit 4Ghz with ease Comment:
I picked up one of these chips and have been so impressed with it. Even at stock speed its a beast, I have mine running at 3.6Ghz on 1.2vcore with a TRUE Revision C and 1 S-Flex 1900RPM i'm doing 39c idle and 69c load with HT on. I haven't even pushed it to 3.8 or 4.0 yet cause the bloody chip is so damn fast. |

Cons:not sure if d0 stepping made OC'ing that much easier...
Pros:best bang for the buck in the lga1366 i7 family Comment:
Have this on a Gigabyte EX58-UD3R and Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 heatsink. So far running great, no problem using gigabyte's software to overclock up to 3.2. With some fiddling around in the bios, i was able to get it to run 3.6 - 4.0Ghz and play crysis just fine, but running Prime95 gives me a BSODI guess i have to spend more time playing around with the voltages. |
I really like this processor.. I upgraded from a e8400 to this, and I can see such a big difference.. I was able to easily oc this processor to 4.5ghz.
