-6 cores -25x Multiplier!-12mb cache-Stock Heatsink is good, I replaced it with an H70 from Corsair-Overclocked @ 4.5ghz ྐྵx180) Has a locked multiplier. 12-25, can not go above 25. If you are seeking to go past say 42.-four.five and aim for 5ghz, go with the 980x. The unlocked multiplier of the 980x enables for less difficult gains, as you don't have to push your base clock as hard. Great processor, necessary a small a lot more juice @ 4.5, other than that, was an simple overclock, operating it on the Asus Rampage Extreme, the full calibrated power helps :) If you need to have a high finish system, this processor will do it for you, following 4.5ghz you are pushing your luck, you'll have to seriously tweak the voltages. This processor had a evaluation of only overclocking to 4ghz. Wrong! 4.four is easymode.. 4.five took a small pump in the juice :P |

Rapid; straightforward to install; superior stock cooler Documentation is marginal I purchased this because of the recent cost drop when the 990x was introduced. I develop my Computer to run Photoshop so I put my $$ into a processor and lots of RAM ྸGB). I am not confident how much I would notice the distinction in between this and the 960 that I was planning to purchase just before the price drop, but I anticipate that Adobe will take advantage of the 6 core technology in its next release. In any event, this baby scoots appropriate along. 64GB SSD main hard drive for Windows 7 and apps; 64GB SSD for scratch disk; and WD 500GB for secondary HDD really makes for a quickly Photoshop machine. |

6 cores, 12 threads!! Adobe production Premium CS5 uses ALL threads. Rendering hi-def video 1980x1080p was the fastest I've EVER observed and even with 3 layers of video on the timeline it in no way passed 20% capacity. Simply incredible!! upgraded from a core2 Quad 960. -What a distinction at least 50% faster with AdobeCS5 tools. Not costly for what it does, but i had to modify my motherboard and memory when i upgraded from the Core2Quad so the total upgrade was a bit steep. This has pretty much the exact same efficiency as the extreme edition 6 core processor so for the price, this 1 is worth it! |

Watercooled mine at four.2 Ghz, 21x200 bclk, wouldn't be concerned about the 4.8 QPI as mine is operating at about 7.2 QPI, from the benchmarks appears to be beating most 980x's that are clocked at 4Ghz, got mine for half the cost....prime95 stable, incredibly content with this processor... None |

Quick, Cool, New! I ought to admit I'm incredibly happy with this purchase. I upgraded from a i7 920 and I don't believe I will be upgrading for a couple years now (good thing). The only thing I did not like was installing the heat sink. I was essentially upgrading my personal computer not doing a fresh install so I had to take out the motherboard (after unhooking every thing and taking every little thing else out as effectively). It was a bit inconvenient to have to do that to install the heat sink. I'm very happy and bought it at 軤 total I feel 2-three days prior to the cost drop. |

6 Cores and so on. Runs cool. Have been able to overclock to 4.three with little effort. Cost drop! Still pricey and locked multi, but so was the multi on the i7 920 it replaced. 1366 is nearly EOL, but the 6 cores are still the fastest on the planet for now. The CPU cooler is massive, but nonetheless pointless for definitely great cooling. This processor wants a terrific air cooler or liquid cooling. It is a wonderful processor and runs about 8-10 C cooler than my 920 and is clocked greater. Amazing. |

rapidly 6cores shows as 12 Needs a long screw driver for the heat sink install. |
AMD is not even in the very same ballpark as Intel... let alone winning. AMD has failed the processor game. The core i7 four cores destroy AMD finest offerings. So how on earth does AMD's piles of junk beat Intel's best of the line processor? NO CONS... although he is proper, get the 980 Cookies
