Intel Core i7 I7-4790 Haswell 3.6GHZ Processor LGA1150 8MB Cache Retail
Cons:None
Pros:Very good processor Comment:
I can always trust Intel. The always have a quality processor, it's always worth the extra money, rather than getting and AMD Brand. The stock fan was decent too and rather quiet. |

Intel Core i7 I7-4790 Haswell 3.6GHZ Processor LGA1150 8MB Cache Retail
Cons:It's really quite hard to get excited about the Haswell refresh.
Pros:Slight speed boost at the same price point as older chip it is replacing. Comment:
Bought this for my wife's computer to pair with an Asus Sabertooth Z97 motherboard. Specifically bought this locked multiplier CPU to prevent overclocking on a computer who's primary purpose is running accounting software. |
I upgraded from an old 1366 board + i7 920 combo and I am very happy. I had not upgraded in quite a long time and I was having major issues with my Socket 1366 board so the simplicity of this new build I just put together has been very welcomed. I'm much busier than I was 5 years ago so I opted for the no OC version of the CPU. It was also significantly cheaper and I am happy with this, overall. There is a bit of sting when I see people getting full +1GHz OC's with these but alas, I am getting stellar performance regardless.
