1. Price tag- not badly priced for what it is, could be less although because it's old tech. 2. Speed- runs OS X like a scalded dog! As noted above, the price tag is a tad high contemplating that Core i3 & i5 will DESTROY this for not considerably more cash. The Core two Quads are rediculous as nicely. But if you want an OS X rig effortlessly, Core two is the very best game suitable now. Even though this is a "gimped" Core two Duo. You genuinely can't tell by the performance. For common tasks, it's great! Runs quickly, cool & isn't super expensive like the Core 2s.

None I threw a bunch of old parts together on the inexpensive to make a Pc that I can leave in our RV. It's now our net access, photo and video viewer, iTunes host and Windows Media Center machine for our 5th wheel.

Appears to be OK, an additional one I have is good. Heat sink/ fan, like every body else I hate the push pins. Applied a salvaged Foxconn branded sink/fan/tunnel from an old emachines set up. twoǙ a lot more sink location and quiet fan, plus back plate and screws. That set up was on a single core Celeron,(kind of more than kill).Have been using AS MX-two TIM with great results.

Upgrading from an old P4 two.4 Ghz, this seems rapidly as lightning. Fits with my new mini-ITX Intel board & is running properly for about a week. Stock HSF is pretty lame, push-pins and all, as other people have said. Meh - it works, so no real complaints here.

Incredibly stable, 64bit, affordable, cool None I'm operating this cpu on a Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L MB with 4GB dual channel Patriot Viper RAM. Installed Windows 7 x64 Enterprise evaluation version (after discovering that the floppy drive had to be set to "none" in the bios initially) and every little thing is extremely stable. The only problem device is my low cost flash card reader, but that's not the processor's fault. This factor is a true bargain for the price. I also have the E6300 version ƒ.8GHz) in one more machine, and it's great too, but costs about the exact same.

Possibly the cache is only 2mb, but i haven't noticed ANY problems, maybe my expectations had been low but this thing BLEW them out of the water. Power consumption is really low, which is a superior factor. overclocks without any challenge. nothing else out there approaches the bang/buck ratio of this processor. if you're building on a budget without any significant processor needs, this baby is the ticket. i don't play games or render video or any of that, so I can't truly speak to the probable cons that might emerge vis-a-vis demanding applications. the only factor you're missing with this processor is an impressive name. speed increases at higher cost points are marginal.

Low Expense Core 2 Duo processor branded a Pentium DC due to the fact of 2MB Cache. VT Tech. I am really happy with the performance of this processor, in particular since it overclocked to 3.66GHz by just upping the FSB to 333MHz in the bios. The sheer clock speed more than the C2Q 8200 I replaced with this processor makes internet surfing and common desktop usage that substantially quicker. I'm specific the performance crown still belongs to the C2Q in video editing and encoding, but my system now runs quicker! Had to give up my Quad core for video editing/encoding. A excellent CPU for the capability, cost and socket. Newegg didn't give it to me for no cost and I had to wait a whole day for it to arrive at my doorstep. The stock fan, with the pins, was painless to install and didn't warp my motherboard in contrast to prior experiences.

good value, 2mb cache will put it slower clock/clock than other chips but has been a good overclocker and runs quite cool. got it to 3.667ghz with basically all auto settings and memory linked 1Ʌ low 50's temp maximum. four.01ghz was a snap, auto voltage ꡜmv offset, so not genuinely even pushing it yet, temps in the mid 50's under load. with w/c and some far more voltage you could go greater for positive, but i dont see the point for me. low l2 cache compared to possibly a comperable phenom with 6mb replaced a e4300, kept the 775 board so was searching for a very good INTEL upgrade. stock settings i believed there might be something wrong with my coretemp program orsomething mainly because the temp in no way budged over 40c employing a decent a/a cooler. stock speed superpi 1m 21sec, 3.67ghz: 14.2s four.01ghz 14.0s

Works fantastic with an Asrock 4coredual-SATA2 R2. flashed with BIOS 2.20A. It wasn't free. I took a opportunity on this processor getting compatible with my 4coredual-SATA2 R2. motherboard. It is not one that is listed as compatible, but I figured if a wolfdale E7600 would work, then this ought to too. Certain sufficient, I am running this at 3.3GHz riding on a 1200MGHz FSB with no adjustments at all. I do have 1 of the modded BIOS files from PCTreiber 2.20A.- Based on Bios 2.20- Add support for E-/R- Wolfdale CPU (E7600, Pentium E6300 supported!)- Support 4 GB DDR2 (~ three,3 GB useable)- Enhanced Speedfancontrol for PWM-Fans- Support Enahnced Halt State, SpeedStep and Thermal Throttling- Instant Boot Support

Dual Core, 3Ghz, High-Finish Power Management, 64-bit Instruction Set, Virtualization Support Only 2MB cache, and doesn't support SSE4 insrtuctions, but most users won't notice. This CPU is a excellent price/performance compromise for most users. It combines some of the ideal functions of the E7400 and E8400 processors (speed, virtualization and power management) at a price of about 贄. Unless you're a gamer, or you're doing tasks that involve heavy graphics procesing, such as video transcoding, or your motherboard won't accept this somewhat new CPU, I can't think of a reason to recommend spending much more income on an Intel CPU for standard computing tasks.

This is a great Overclocker. 3.6ghz stock voltage. I got it at 4.2ghz at load about 58C. This is on a super air cooler, not stock. If your making use of a stock fan, I wouldn't go higher than three.8ghz. I'm working my way up to four.5ghz. I got this chip to hold me over until I get enough cash for the q9550. Oh at 4.0ghz it out performs the q6600 and some four core AMD. Windows 7 rates at 6.9. Not poor for an old chip. This with a XFX 780i mobo and a evga gtx 260 plays all games at maxed, Even black ops. until the patch came out and messed up the graphic card hitching. None Don't be afraid to push this chip. If you play my steam name is chaz2009. Newegg rocks.

Need to work nicely with most motherboards Following installing this CPU on my Intel DP35DP mobo my personal computer would not boot. It would power up and i could look at the cmos settings then it would not boot from the challenging drive. I put my 2.two core two GHZ cpu back in and every thing is fine. I have the newest firmware for the board so that is not the problem. At initial I thought I had a poor cpu so I sent it back to Newegg, they exchanged it no problem..that is why I adore Newegg. I had the very same dilemma with the second cpu. I don't understand why an Intel cpu would not work with a intel board specifically when it is supposed to be compatible according to Intel's web website.

Processor is easily overclocked - no voltage change and got it to three.6GHz. Extremely pleased with the value for the price. None that I've run into - everything is running lightning rapidly, and it's a excellent alter from the old P4 processor that was in there. Won't work on some older socket 775 motherboards.

Low price of ๠ and high efficiency. Also has virtual mode for Windows-7 expert. The usual Intel socket-775 fan/cooler mounting method. Did a new method with this E6500 and Windows-7 Expert for a lot more compatibility with incredibly old game programs. Windows Expertise Rating Index was 6.four for the CPU & Memory.
