Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH120G2K5 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:
Relatively small capacity.
Pros: Very high read speed. Fast enough write speed. Comment:
It's hard to find any fault to this SSD. The load times are significantly faster than my old 1TB Caviar Black. The write speed, compared to its peers, is a little slower, but in real world use, it's difficult to tell. I find Intel to be more of a reliable brand than the others, but that's my bias. The capacity could be a little larger for the price, but that is more of a market complaint. Overall, I recommend this SSD to anyone who has yet to make the jump from a regular Hard Drive. |
I bought two of these drives on sale and put one in my desktop and one in my laptop. After playing around with both I found that while the read, write and execute times are fast they range from 90 - 300mbs Read and 60 - 90 mbs write. Biggest plus is not caring how I man-handle my laptop while it's running. These drives are fast booting, laptop averages about 45 seconds from power on to email. Will be good to compare to other drive in the future.
