Bought this on sale for 289, ran it for a while at stock. Decided yesterday to overclock it a little. Managed 3GHz on 1.150V been stable for 6 hours so far with 4 prime instances running. Have not tried any higher but I dont plan on going much higher. For the record I am using an Asus P5E-VM HDMI with this CPU and a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme plus an older 104CFM panaflow. For those of you who fold, it gets ~2450PPD with the SMP client at stock clocks. |
running at 3.0 400fsb since 1 month with absolutely no problem on a P35-DQ6 bios F7. vcore 1.168 RAM 2x2GB 1:1 800 4-4-4-12 2vI just pump fsb to 427 for a nice 3.2 same voltage with RAM 4:5 1068 5-5-5-12 2v, completely 4x prime stable 27 hours with max 56C room 22C (thermalright ultra-120 with 120mm noctua at 900rpm)Really a nice processor. will try more fsb soon and pass to 8GB
