Fast and ugly sums it up. It does what it's supposed to do, and it advertises its proper voltage/wattage output which is not suitable for powering external hard drives. This isn't entirely clear, but it is technically there.Not a bad unit.

Cons:Power isn't sufficient for anything that can use the USB 3.0 spec (external hard drives, etc...)

I tried to use this with my macbook pro only to find that its lacking in the power department to drive an external hard drive.The included AC adapter is only 2.0 Amps, which as usb 3.0 spec is 900mA per port, which does not add up, the included adapter should be at least 3.5A.
