Does what it says it will do

The only thing I didn't like about it, you have to configure the IOgear application to load at startup then click on the connect button to access your devices. |

Not as advertised.

I picked this device up to work with a web cam. But after connecting a brand new Logitech web cam the device did not see the web cam. I contacted IOGear and they told me that it didn't work with all web cams. I told them that I bought a Logitech cam because its a well established name and common in the market place. So I asked what brand of web cam WILL it work with? They don't know. Couldn't tell me if it works with any web cam brand even though they advertised. Said they could send it to the product team. It does work with flash drives, external hard drives, and printers. The disadvantage is it doesn't "share" the devices. You have to connect and disconnect to make it available to other users. |

After purchasing this product, and working with it a bit, I'd say this is a fairly useful product; however, it should be made known that this creates a point-to-point connection with 1-4 USB devices. Thus far, it has installed well without any conflicts. I currently am using it to backup my Files and Settings to a USB hard disk. I will try using it as a print server, afterwards. |
The sharestation seems to work well. I have a external hard drive, flash drive and HP all-in-one printer connected to it. The only thing that would be nice if you did not have to disconnect the devices before another computer can connect. I thought the price was a little much for such a small device, but I would still recommended it.
