Backup for a work laptop. Worked quite well -- no issues to speak of. Transfers quickly without any disconnects. I've since recommended it to some friends. |
The drive in side mine is a Seagate Model ST31000520AS witch doesn't have vary good reviews a lot of failures when I googled the model number.plus I had a 500gb Seagate fail on a friends system this yearI might end up giving this hd away don't think I can trust itso far it is working fine ran h2testw to fill it verify the data and it passed write speed was 19mb/s read was 22mb through the usb connection took little over 24hrs to fill and verify and power supply got little warm but it was working hard the whole timeI have not tried it over the network yet the power supply looks cheap and will probably fail even the power cord was way to thin 20awg wire for 120v warning never use this power cord for any other electronics as wires may melt may even start fire I would have to say this power cord may not pass electrical safety it feels thinner then 20awg and I have never seen a power cord as thin as this one note that every power cord I have seen with the same connectors is at least 18awg wire.other then the cheap looking power cord and supply its working fineand really can't complain for the price I got it for
