KEF 2005.3 K2 Home Theatre Surround Sound Speaker System 100W Gloss Black
Cons:
Excessive packaging
Pros: Rich soundQuality buildAppealing design |
This home theatre speaker system is definitly worth the money. Compact, well designed, sturdy materials, you can feel the quality the minute you pull these speakers out of the box. And what a box it is. Heavy, excessive packaging with layers of styrofoam with only two speakers per layer where you could have fitted all the same in two layers rater than three. But, that's just me. Each speaker is wrapped in a cloth bag, nice touch.Coupled to an Onkyo TX-SR608 7.2 Channel Stereo Receiver, these babies just... purrrr. To give an example, I watched the classic sci-fi movie Blade Runner on MPIX. Now, MPIX is not HD, not in image, and certainly not in sound, yet, I've heard sounds, and enjoyed the Vangelis soundtrack in a way that I had not perceaved before in this movie. That's the quality you can expect from these babies. Now, I don't think of myself as an audiofile, much less a specialist in the subject of Hi-Fi. I've owned entry to mid level sound systems in the past with speakers such as Celestion and Accoustic Research, and they were fine. Let's just say that these speakers respond just as well,if not better, in a much smaller format. All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase and I recommend this set to all those who are looking for high end sound in a mid range system. Definitly a worth while acquisition. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-03-11 07:57 PM
