KEF KHT3005 Home Theatre 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System 100W
Cons:- Wayyyyy tooooo expensive at regular price of 2100$. However on limited quantity sales at 1000$ it's a very good deal. Other than that I can't see anything bad.- Don't trust the subwoofer's manual that says to put the crossover to 120Hz. KEF emailed me and told me to set the Front/Rear to 80Hz, Sub to 80Hz and the Center to 70Hz. Really the manual doesn't say **** at all.
Pros:- 100W per channel.- Very stylish and good looking even without the grids.- Ultra powerful subwoofer.- Can be wall mounted even if its very heavy. Comment:
Let me say something.. OMFG!!!!!! The sound is godlike! I consider myself as an audiophile even thought I listen to high quality mp3 or play shooter games and let me tell you that my previous speakers (Logitech Z-5500) that usualy cost 300$, feels like very cheap toys. There's no way you can compare the sound of those to the KEF. I really don't trust Logitech when they say "500W RMS" as my KEF being limited to 75W per channel because of my receiver, they're like 10x more powerful. By the way I use the (Onkyo TX-SR607) that I price-matched to 500$. Can't find it any cheaper and I tell you that you must not get anything worse for the receiver if you want to fully use the KEF.In fewer words, with the best consummer's 5.1 PC speaker such as the Z-5500, you hear the music but with the KEF you FEEL the music!You can look at a few small pictures of them in my thread on this product page (PanzerIV). As you see they're only at 3-4ft of me and yet it's perfect. Thought it would had been total overkill but its not. I would have uploaded many big HQ pictures but I'm prolly not allowed to post a link here. The whole weight of the shipping box is 70lbs if not even a little more. Don't trust the 35lbs that UPS may stamp on the box. Too bad the KHT-5005 wasn't on sale at 1000$ less as I would have spend the extra 300-400$ to get it but like I said these 3005 are already WAYYY above anything you may have heard in ur life.Oh and get at least gauge 16 wire for this. The KEF KHT3005 SE earned many prizes in the past few years and is recognized as the best alternative in its price range.This speaker system is definitely a true high end audio system that happens to be multichannel, and I think many buyers big flat-screen displays will see it as the perfect match. In both performance and styling, this one is the real thing.
