Performs with my Linksys KVM switch. I'm running Windows XP and Kubuntu Linux on two Thinkpads. Want it was black. But, function is more crucial than colour. Need to have purchased a spare.

It just flat out works. And it's much cheeper than a new IBM USB KYBD. Nothing far more to say. Not realy a con, but it seems to like to have each the mouse and KYBD plugged into it. I got this a although back when I replaced my KVM switch with one particular that had only USB and I wanted to keep by IBM PS2 KYBD. Works like a champ with both the KYBD and Mouse (using a USB to PS2 adapter) plugged into it and it plugged into the KYBD jack of the switch. Doesn't operate as effectively with only the KYBD and the mouse plugged into the USB mouse port on the KVM suitch.

Functions just as it need to. Plug and play. None. I had to purchase this adapter for my girlfriends computer. Her laptop came from Dell with no PS2 ports! The new keyboard she had just purchased was PS2 (wierd, as most new keyboards are USB) so this was the answer.

PSǘ Keyboard functions faithfully when attached. A Microsoft PSǘ wheel mouse attached to this adapter regularly freezes for 15 - 60 seconds for no apparent reason. Left hand Windows Important and "E" important combination will not bring up Windows explorer in WinXP. This is a poorly created product that can\'t be utilised in a organization atmosphere.I've had no issues when making use of Sabrent SBT-PS23U-RTL adapters.

I purchased a new Dell Inspiron 530 desktop - it only has USB input for Keyboard and Mouse. I have a Belkin 4 port PS2 KVM box, with this item- I'm in a position to use no issue. Saved me from making use of a separate keyboard/mouse for this machine. none I had to disconnect the keyboard/mouse from the KVM and then reconnect to get it to recognize. Operates excellent now - I advise.

Frees up a USB slotFunctions with four Port Hawking Technology PSǘ KVM None I'm making use of this with an old PSǘ Hawking Engineering four port KVM. I bought a new Dell Inspiron 530 with ONLY USB ports and wanted to maintain using my old, trusty KVM. This tiny guy did the job was in a position to convert the KVM's PSǘ to USB. And it freed up a single USB Port in the course of action. Generally, it saved me from having to buy a USB KVM for ฮ+. Thanks Newegg! Note, I have it plugged into the motherboard's USB, not a PCI.

Straightforward style, uncomplicated to pack in an emergency technician's toolkit, supports unusual key combinations (when it works) such as Mac OS X command key, and so on. Worked fine on my Mac Mini. Won't function correctly on my Dell Inspiron 6000. Works fine if only a keyboard is connected; won't operate at all (neither operates) if both keyboard and mouse are connected. The implementation in application is fantastic but the hardware implementation seems flaky at greatest. Also reports its power requirement to be 100mA, when many keyboard/mouse sets together very easily draw twice that with these days's optical mice and wireless keyboards.

Seems to perform with just about any OS or platform I plug it in.Primarily got it for work on individuals ZBox/Net-tops or other Mfg. PCs that have only 1 PS2 port exactly where an added PS2 Y is needed for mouse/kb or only USB connectors are offered.Seems to be created pretty well, medium grade plastic.USB plug and PS2 ports appear and feel decent when plugging/unplugging connections. (A little warning not to hot swap a PS2 plug on a mother board as it can short out your keyboard controller. ) USB is much more robust and will enable hot swapping KB Mouse over a PS2. Only comment I have right here would be that it is slightly bulky (not a deal breaker even though) but my guess it is truly has some electronic guts inside the wedge to make it work with a selection of systems supplying for compatibility. Been plugging away at systems due to the fact 1983, have had all kinds of gadgets by the years. This is a excellent tool to have in a computer arsenal for the speedy and dirty instances or just when you are in a bind and have a pile of PS2 KB and Mice laying around :) (Cheaper solution than ordering mid-grade USB KB and Mouse )Have not attempted making use of PS2 KVM to USB systems but I would not be surprised if it worked effectively that way too.

Only requires 1 usb port and provides PSǘ for each keyboard and mouse, but all of them do that...It also Operates, and functions with my KVM pretty well.Price When I use my KVM to switch to the PCs these are used on the mouse won't work promptly. I have to let the mouse be nonetheless for 3-5 seconds and often press a important on the keyboard first before the mouse will start out operating. Not a big deal, but it's the cause it didn't get five eggs. Annoying Dell PCs w/o PSǘ Ports GRRR!!!

Comments: This device does what I will need it to with only minor issues. I use a psǘ kvm (zonet 4port, item N82E16817107602) with ps2 keyboard/mouse at operate for a desktop (sometimes far more than 1 desktop if I'm fixing yet another) and a tiny notebook which does not have psǘ ports. I plug the KVM cables into the notebook by way of this converter. The only complaint I have is that occasionally when scrolling the cursor by means of text utilizing the arrow keys it provides me the numeric keypad equivalent of the arrow important as an alternative of moving the cursor. This is sufficiently infrequent that it's a minor annoyance, but I don't use this program for gaming. For me it was absolutely worth the price tag.

Affordable. Cool thought putting the ports inside a box. Lags ALOT. I would kind out a paragraph and it would come out incredibly choppy. Also lags in the course of games. I would press a essential to move my guy and he would carry out the move about 3 seconds later (this is a big deal if you play FPS). Cheap price tag, low-cost item. Oh and Newegg rocks.

Comment:
I purchased this due to the fact I have a IO Gear PS2 KVM that I was working with with two PS2 computers. I replaced 1 of the PS2 computers with a Dell Inspiron 530 that only has USB ports on it. I was skeptical because I read numerous evaluations on other PS2 adapters that do not work with some KVM's. Nonetheless, in my scenario, it worked ideal. The switching is rapidly and I have had no disconnection issues. Please note that this functions fantastic with my Dell 530 and my IO Gear KVM PS2 but could or not operate with other brands. None so far.
