Worked right out of the box! The volume did not function, and I began to curse the thing. Then I realized I had to adjust the volume on my monitor. Hooked Comcast cable input, VGA output to my 19" LCD monitor. So far, so excellent. Exceeded my expectations. It requires a even though to get utilised to the channels. Not the very same as my Comcast channels. Not an issue of the box though. As soon as the price tag drops, I'll pick up an additional two additional. |

Affordable and rapid delivery from Newegg Componet cables are on the side which tends to make it appear ugly with wires sticking out on the side. Box is made extremely low cost. Manual does not involves any setup instruction. Did not get as several channels as my HDTV. Upon setup (after an hour), when switching channels or pressing specific buttons on remote, device would LOCK UP. Had to power cycle device to turn off and on. This happens quite frequently and incredibly frustrating. Remote buttons make no sense at all. Planning to return item. |

- WOrked out of box - guess I got lucky on this one particular - see earlier testimonials/DOA complaints posted right here.- In a position to pick up ᡂ stations with the included antenna - Only VGA resolution on my 22' LCD x1050). The DVI version box must work a little greater, but cann't complain as well much since broadcast HD Tv is 720p afterall. - Worked with my Comcast cable as effectively, but only community channels are clear/QAM. Not in a position to tune to any premium channels like Discovery, so rather useless as far as cable is concerned. |

Excellent picture on a 15" VGA display x768) and on a Television employing composite input. QAM tuner gets all of my cable firm's unencrypted channels which luckily is 70+ channels for me. Volume control adjusts the RCA audio output so I can adjust the KWorld box to match the volume of the other inputs on my Tv, then adjust the Television volume as required. Require a decoder important to figure out what the tiny icons on the remote imply (e.g., the tiny home symbol pulls up the menu, etc.). I'm not confident however, but I assume closed captioning may possibly turn itself on at times following switching channels. Annoying extremely bright blue power light on the front. General, type of a light, cheap really feel. I also tried the ATSC tuner with the tiny antenna supplied but got only two channels - no surprise based on where I live. My image excellent comments only apply to SD digital signals as my cable company does not present any HD content on clear-QAM. |

worked fine for two and a half months is now dead don't actually know what happened, I didn't use it all that significantly, just went to turn it on,,ok but then it wouldn't do something. The Kworld logo didn't come on, there was no signal from the cable, and it wouldn't turn off. I had to unplug the power to even get it turned off. |

Comply with up to closed captioning comment. Folks who miss the point... There IS a glitch/problem in how this unit handles closed captioning. Turning it off globally is not a step I really should have to take just to avoid it form popping up when I don't want it. Sometimes, I do want it, and to have to go back into the menu and re-enable it just for one particular channel is annoying. When I cycle it to off employing the CC button on the remote, it should keep off until I inform it too, period. Not come back on when I transform the channel. |

Its simple to set up and antena is tiny, hence one particular can place hide it quickly. 720pi signal looks fantastic but it looks a small fuzzy on 1080p Television. Ane over the air HD channels in the area will be caught by this device. If you don't get several, there aren't several in the location you reside in to commence with... Kinda expansive for a device outputtin 720p only and no HDMI. |

Ƒ) picks up the unscrambled digital channels off cable ƒ) relatively cheap option immediately after internal QAM on plasma went out Ƒ) won't let you get rid of channels soon after it scans ... I don't want all the music channel junk; ƒ) slow response on the remote; Ɠ) channel display details is too major, covering practically half of screen and stays displayed way as well extended with no solution to shorten display time; Ɣ) ought to know precise channel when typing it in, ie ought to be 21-1 you can't just sort 21 and it'll take you there then you surf up / down which was available on the original television QAM It functions for now, but I'll be replacing it sooner or later. Vizio's crazy QAM tuner forced us to get this and it's a lot cheaper than messing with the Vizio. While it provides you a fair quantity of possibilities, some simple things just are there like the potential to kind a channel quantity devoid of getting exact. It wouldn't be too substantially of an situation if the remote / remote sensor was a lot more responsive or just gave you more time to sort in the numbers. It does run hot, but I placed vertically two pieces of stiff cardboard to permit a lot more air flow beneath the device. The blue "on" light is just about like a laser at night ... completely blinding! But it's a matter of viewing angle. Mine is close to the floor so unless you're on the floor or sitting way back, it doesn't annoy you. If you have the money, appear for one more choice, but I nonetheless think this is much better than messing with the internals of a plasma with no a warranty. |

It's great for watching television, one step up from the standard NTSC tuner, crisp HD channels. But like a lot of electronics that come from China, they aren't meant for the U.S. No manufacturer support for the US! Displays the wrong time, no way to modify time settings, doesn't display channel information, just poor excellent. Also, you will need to obtain an F-Connector Push-On adapter. It's low cost, and for the most aspect, does what advertised. Discovering a item that does both ATSC and QAM can be hard, and this does it. Other individuals complain the item is flimsy, but I believe it's good to have something that isn't bulky or heavy. Appears sturdy enough to me, if easily scratched. It comes busted. I purchased one more one of these at [ANOTHER RETAILER], and it did the very same thing: at channel 21-1, goes to white (or black) screen and locks up, not responding to anything, which include energy switch. Only unplugging and replugging fixes issue. Nearly absolutely a firmware issue, but Kworld tells me that the firmware Cannot be upgraded. The SA295 need to permit firmware upgrades, so Purchase THAT As an alternative. I think I will.Blue indicator light on front is uncomfortably vivid and annoying though watching Tv.Requires as well lengthy to begin up.Menus and buttons are far from self-explanatory. Instruction manual is poorly written. I'm confident I could repair the issue with a firmware upgrade, but KWORLD assures me that the firmware cannot be upgraded. It seems, even though, that SA295 merchandise can be upgraded, so Buy A single OF These As an alternative. |

Very first Power on is a Bear.. Stick with it...Don't forget to get some 2.1 speakers when you order this if your VGA doen't have powered speakers. Would be nice it it could be wall mounted or versa mounted to the back of the VGA?Save all these Undesirable Monitors from work (dumpster dive)and replace the CAPS (see Undesirable cap forum dot net) and for less than 贄 you have a Television. |

The image excellent is great, but that is the only positive I can muster. Exactly where to start out...? Complete piece of garbage! If I modify to channel 68-1 in Dallas, 90% of the time I get a white screen, and the device is rendered inoperable till I reset it by extracting its plug. The box insists on delivering closed captioning, so that has to be disabled every single time I am forced to reboot. Be careful disabling closed captioning since you may get the white screen there as well. I have not seen a customer electronics device behave this poorly in some time.I tried to make contact with their support staff. I was forced to register ahead of I was allowed to do so, the net site indicated that they would send an activation e mail. I am nevertheless waiting.... |

Newegg had a great price tag on this Kworld HD tuner. After seeking at the costs of several SD converter boxes, I had no problems at all paying a small additional for this HD tuner. The Kworld HD tuner delivers exceptional good quality video from OTA broadcast signals when working with the 720p & 1080i display settings. I connected it to my 800x600 native resolution projector utilizing a vga cable. Though the projector isn't HD the picture is nonetheless incredible. I'm going to try it on my 23.five inch 1080p pc monitor next. I've only had this factor for a tiny while, so no actual difficulties however. The remote feels low cost and the icons for the distinct button functions are somewhat cryptic. Other than that there's extremely tiny to complain about. It took a although to get it working correctly at first. The tuner would only get three channels when it was connected to my outdoor antenna. Then I tested the device at a relative's home on their amplified outdoor antenna and it performed perfectly. It turned out the problem was with my antenna cable. Right after the problem was corrected I used autoscan and received almost all of the accessible local channels. |

Looks good and has great remote. Merely doesn't operate appropriately. Overheats immediately after a brief time of use. Signal doesn't scan appropriate on either Tv or pc monitor. Operates correctly only intermittently. Junk. |
As some have posted, you have to truly study the manual and adjust the output to Element (YPbPr) if you are utilizing the component outputs, by default the VGA output is enabled. Also...if you basically take the time to read the manual and play with the possibilities in the menu, you can disable closed captioning on a global scale, not per channel...so the CC always coming back on is a user error, not a predicament with the unit. Image excellent is perfect on my Toshiba 46H84 rear projection "HD Ready" Television on 1080i setting. I like how when you change channels it shows at the bottom of the screen if it is getting a SD or HD signal, rating for the program, etc.... Not also plenty of. A single beef I have though is the unit is so tiny and light the element cables will pull the box proper off of whatever you have it sitting on unless you manipulate the cables so they dont pull down on it. If there had been "keyhole" mounting holes on the back/bottom of the unit so you could mount it to the wall that would have been pretty good, though the remote very likely would not work too properly then. Guess I have to pull out the Industrial Strength Velcro and stick it down, not a big deal even though. No digital audio output as far as I can tell. There is a three.5mm headphone style in and out like on a Pc...the green one particular as nicely as regular composite red and white RCA outputs on the side. No matter, I have a nice surround system that has Dolby Pro Logic II signal processing which does a exceptionally high quality job at making the broadcast stereo signal multichannel. For everyday Television this is more than acceptable. I wish the antenna was a bit longer, itself and it's cord, but hey, it functions. I am alot more "techie" than most consumers I know so for me to attempt the output choice and navigate by way of the menus was a no brainer. I am not certain why absolutely everyone complains about the manual. Is it short? Yeah. But if you want a great deal more than it shows you you may want to hire Geek Squad to come hook it up for you, as a result of it's genuinely basic stuff. I had a feeling most of the undesirable reviews were from individuals who weren't really technical and I was correct. Like an additional reviewer I went with my gut feeling and grabbed it up though it was only 59 bucks shipped cost-free...ten bucks even more than a non-HD tuner at the nearby Most effective Acquire which will not tune HD channels and it was effectively worth it. It does exactly what it says it does, it does it cheaply. This is what you want to get if you are needing one particular of these "DTV conversion boxes" and you also have a HDTV and want to watch any nearby HD OTA channels in HD, not just digital.
