Smaller, installation and setup straightforward. Manual incredibly poor, useless would be finest description. On screen menu extremely restricted, soon after setup. Excellent on the component video fon my 32" LCD for me was not too excellent.Pc DIN connection was superior. Perhaps it's my nearby cable provider, but I was only able to two channels in clear QAM. The box scanned and identified 13 channels, but came up with no signal when stepping via and no guide info No pass via analog. Disappointed with NewEgg that they would sell a item with such a poor manual.

Worked nicely for the first month Only lasts 1 month. At this expense just pay for cable. Just all of the sudden following obtaining it for 1 month turned off and won't come back on. It is plugged into a 跌.00 surge protector so it is just a defective unit. Also the item only comes with a 1 month warranty so it is not worth even trying!

Value and appear of exterior, and that's where the pros finish. DOA, Power comes on but won't go off. No 1080p, no digital output. Cords come out the side so they will be tricky to hide if you want to use the remote. Manual is worthless. Tech assistance is long distance to Taiwan (I didn't call). I tried all outputs VGA/Component/Composite and all I ever got was a blank screen. You have to toggle blindly by means of 6 prospective settings to attempt to find the ideal input/output mixture. I by no means located mine following triple checking all my cables. The unit is defective :( All I want is 1080i HDTV from my cable companies more than the air channels. This Unit is supposed to supply that and it failed. I'm going to return it for a single more attempt and cross my fingers for a great box.

Nice picture. Remote is cheap, counter-intuitive menus, not user friendly, modest buttons challenging to reach/operate. Close captioning issue: You turn the cc off but appears once more in the next channel! Within the reasonable time I spent I could not come across a menu to disable them all. This device with the small antenna discovered and registered all of the approximately 40 ATSC channels Houston (positive). I do not know about the NTSC channels since I was not interested, they are on their way out any way. Sadly once more, I could not discover a list of all the registered channel so I could disable the ones I was not interested in. This is an critical functionality to me that prompts me to return it. Nice picture, very good selectivity and sensitivity. I utilised smaller powered speakers and worked fine. I planned to use it in a travel trailer...

None The manual is worthless.I wanted to use this to get OTA hd reception on my HD Television that lacks an ATSC tuner. I connected employing componet video cables and turned it on. A blue light came on but no Tv image or sound. There is nothing to indicate what mode the unit is (PC or Tv) or what output is active. After pressing all the setting buttons all day, I'm convinced this unit is defective or just a piece of junk. Either way, it's going back.

It operates now. Super rapidly turn about on the RMA. They got it on the 10th and I had it back to me on the 15th. The unit is distinct. Mine left new just out of the box this a single is a bit worn. When I got the replacement unit, all my paperwork was in the box and it was in the bag I sent it in. I was skeptical that they had performed something. I had to appear at the serial number to ascertain it was diverse. Two buys in one for me on K-Planet. Initially and Last. The good thing is they turn about an RMA in a flash. The reality that an RMA was necessary and there was no other communication to let me know that they did something. I will continue to post with any other updates, if I assume it would be helpful.

Quite Strong ReceptionGreat AestheticsComponent Video OutputWonderful HD Video Quality No Surround Sound Capable Output Seriously. I'm amazed by the persons complaining that this unit doesn't output 1080p. It would be pointless for this unit to output 1080p because cable and more than-the-air broadcasts aren't broadcast in 1080p. This unit performs incredibly properly. Don't waste your time seeking for a 1080p tuner yet. It's excellent for those who have an HDTV monitor which doesn't have a built in ATSC or QAM tuner.

Still operates. None now. The 16ɍ aspect display from the kWorld SA290 received by my 1024 x 768 XGA Epson 82c projector appears to be 1024 x 576 with no distortion. When put on a 60" wide pull down screen, it is proficiently a 576p 69" display. Once again, not bad for the ๠ one time fee. I haven't tried the 4ɇ mode, but it need to render 1024 x 768 for an successful 768p 75" display (not wide screen, but more pixels on the screen general). Will update as I attempt various items. At the moment, it does not appear to be a dismal failure as some recommend. My aim to have a good resolution wide screen display is met so far. Because the kWorld is re-formatting a 1080i signal into a 576 or 768 VGA signal, it's challenging to know if the display is truly progressive and how significantly distortion is brought on by mapping pixels at a not one-to-one particular ratio. I can say the image is considerably superior than composite fourɇ received by the similar projector - substantially superior.

Decent picture quality, all things deemed. Composite/component/VGA outputs = tremendous flexibility in what panels you can hook this up to: I had this connected to a Dell 24" (one of their Ultrasharp displays with practically every input on the planet) by way of the component inputs so I could get PIP devoid of being restricted to the VGA connection this box delivers. Suddenly failed after 10 months of light use (Ӭ.5-2h/wk, often connected via APC surge protector), had to RMA via K-Globe.Replacement unit came back with a cable-in jack recessed so far into the unit that it's almost impossible to securely attach a cable. Their response was to mail it back for one more RMA at my expense. All my subsequent emails to them attempting to resolve this issue have been ignored.Key downgrade of rating for the poor product high quality and horrendous buyer service. This box is a fair worth if you get a single that keeps going for a handful of years. Image excellent wise, component/composite = acceptable, VGA = poor. On component outputs, not very very good sufficient to be viewed pretty close up (ie, on a 2nd monitor on your desk, as opposed to a massive Tv numerous feet away). Lots of streaking on VGA. I have a cheapo DTV converter box for comparison and even that blows the KWorld box away.

Wish I knew of a couple, but it was DOA Dead on arrival. Attempting to send it back to get yet another model from Newegg, so I'll have an update ultimately. Had the very same issues a different reviewer described: flickering screen, energy coming on but not going off, no way to see the menu, etc, and I attempted it on a VGA, HDTV and standard set. Nothing.

Low-cost, affordable, cheap Terrible remote, overheats, bright power light I got the Kworld to replace a Comcast set-leading box that I was renting.Read the evaluations on newegg.com. Lots of individuals complain about it. The setup instructions are non-existent but the comment thread assists a lot. I use a low-cost programmable remote (GE 24950) instead of the included remote. The Kworld has a vibrant blue light indicating power. That wouldn't do in the bedroom. I covered it with a 1ǘ inch square of black duct tape. Perfect. It has no cooling technique program so if you leave it on all the time it overheats and freezes. Kworld replaced it but the replacement nonetheless does it.I feed the Comcast cable directly into it and get about 30 digital channels (e.g. five-1), no cable-ready despite the fact that I had expected them also. Most of the digital channels that I've checked are HD, some 720p, some 1080i. I use component video to drive my Television.Nevertheless for all its shortcomings, it saves me the monthly rental to Comcast.

Good Overall Capabilities But only if they operate. I bought this from New egg for 50$ and believed I cut a excellent deal but poor me. Currently paying ten$ RMA as the Device didn't even function. Over nice device if functions as advertised. Extremely poor documentation and clumsy setup. You want to make a mixture of twoƧ to even get started seeing image. In my case I couldn't see any image and now waiting for replacement.

receives ota and qam broadcasts such as 8 channels ota in rural location instructions poor, remote manage response time really slow... causing confusion with signal. This unit is really quite nice for the price and what it essentially does. The issue is that when you originally set it up, if the output doesn't match what you are working with, you get no signal, which ordinarily wouldn't be a big concern. On the other hand, pressing the remote manage to alter the output doesn't outcome in an immediate response. It in fact takes two or 3 seconds to modify output on my unit. Since of this, I originally believed the unit did not function. When I got this operating, navigation and set up was effortless but not neccessarily intuitive. Image good quality is very excellent. Audio excellent is also great, but is only mono/stereo. I was suprised by the number of stations I received in my rural place using the small antenna that came with the unit. I received eight stations employing the antenna and about 6 with cable. The cable businesses only pass by way of nearby hdtv stations that they supply signals for. You will not receive non neighborhood hdtv cable stations making use of this unit.

This device is all you need to have if you are seeking for a trud hd atsc tuner with 1080i or 720p output. The reviews I read on this device virtually created me not want to acquire it but occasionally you have to trust your guts and that's what I did. No matter what any person says, this is a super duper tuner if you want to watch OTA hdtv. There are a lot far more high priced units out there and I happened to personal one of them. Compared to what I had, this kworld unit is significantly superior in terms of price and the extra function of usb playing music and jpg slideshow proper out of my thumb drive. No complaints, just compliments here....can't wait for superbowl. If only it played video correct out of my thumb drive....Nothing at all else.

VGA output apparently detects the native resolution of my XGA 񡺀 x 768) Epson 82c projector and formatted properly with no challenge. Stereo output sounds as good as any. Remote and setup are intuitive sufficient for an typical user. Result: watched game five of MLB World Series at greater than 720p 60" format for ๠. Direct Television HDVR upgrade plus fee would be more than 躔 for this year with perpetual fee every month, so the kWorld is not a bad alternative. Will probably just keep the kWorld with the projector for game watching only. This unit will hang up if output is asked to switch too speedily. Restarts ok if powered down and back up. Manual is as useless as other most other electronics' manuals. Looks like they just gave up on providing any technical detail. Desires rubber feet or screw down bracket.

Video output is extremely good for my old LCD panel 鼐P). The unit identified all of my local ATSC stations, even with the tiny included antennae. I live in a rural region, so this is a testament to the units sensitivity. This unit does perfectly what I wanted it to do, which was serve as a digital converter box for my old NTSC LCD panel. As a side bonus, I can use it with any of my Pc monitors, so I am very pleased with it. Closed captioning does behave oddly. In my case, whenever I alter a channel it turns itself on. This is not terribly bad, but it is kind of annoying.Far more frustrating is how it handles channels. It has no technique for deleting unwanted channels. My nearby broadcasters have their main, HD channels that I want to view, and also low resolution SD channels for those watching on an old SD set. This implies I have to wade through pretty much twice as numerous channels as are essential to watch my programs. Also, if autoscan picks up a bunch of channels in languages you don't speak, like spanish, then your only option is to manually add channels to attempt and weed out as significantly of the fluff as possible. Sadly, if they are bundled on the exact same frequency as a channel that you want, then you can't get rid of it. For instanceᚵ-1 is a channel I want13-2 is spanish or SDI can't get rid of 13-2 simply because the only selection the box provides me is to get rid of that frequency altogether, losing 13-1 as This unit does involve a composite connection, it's just challenging to discover. The component out's Y(green) doubles as the video out for a composite connection. So you can use this box with a Regular Definition tv if you so chose. Overall, I say this products merits outweigh its quirks. With an ATSC and QAM tuner, it's a difficult package to beat for the price. I'm undoubtedly enjoying the HD picture, and that's actually all I wanted it for.
