I bought this to take with me for ultralight backpacking, so durability and material strength was not a huge factor in making the decision to purchase... that said, I am very impressed with this tripod. It weighs 14.9 ounces on my scale. The legs are a little shaky, sure, but what do you expect from such a lightweight tripod with such thin legs? It does hold my Nikon D40X (2.2 lbs) at all angles with no problem. The leg segments are a little stiff coming out.. I think it's due to the latches catching sometimes. I might throw some graphite in there to loosen it up. |

My GN-BGTR arrived and looked nothing like the photo! I understand you get what you pay for and this is only $20, but one of the main features I purchased for was the height of 53''. The one that came barely reaches 40''. It has 4 rather wobbly segments vice the 3 advertised. The rep assures me these are the same thing! A little disappointed and will definitely return. On the bright side however, TigerDirect has great customer service -- the return was easy and as long as this is the case I will always be a happy customer! |
I am not sure why the description of one the these user reviews stated that this product is not the same as the picture... This tripod is great! For the dollar, it is light weight, strong, stable, and easy to use. If this cost more than the amazingly low price asked at your site, I would STIlL make this purchase. It is worth every cent asked. Great product.
