Kingston 16GB DataTraveler I Gen 3 USB Flash Drive
Cons:meh
Pros:Capacity (for now)The cap stays on. Comment:
It did not work right away in a Win7 64 system, in any of the USB ports. Plugged it into an XP machine and it worked right away. When I brought it back over the Win7 machine, it worked. Could be anything. It's a small point, but I like the fact that the new Gen3 sticks have a slightly more rubberized grip instead of the hard plastic. It makes it a bit easier to grip. The cap also stays on better now. The older stick definitely suffered from a loose cap. :) |
Sleek, slim design does not cramp other USB devices. The cap shops on the finish in the course of use. Incredibly rapidly read/write speeds as advertised. No useless software pre-installed. 16GB is far more than all my old USB drives combined so the space is excellent. I choose a capless style for road warrior gear. The "key ring" slot on the finish is also narrow to fit an actual crucial ring or lanyard. Plastic casing does not look like it will take any abuse like my Cruzer Titanium nor would it in fact survive on a important ring. No assistance for transferring copyrighted material (hopefully a regular function in G4 products!). I would surely advise to any one that does not need to have a truly rugged USB drive.
