Kingston 2GB PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory
Cons:Only slight increase in one of my 2 benchmark programs over my old single channel 2 gb of ram (samsung value sticks). One 3dmark showed a 2000pts increase and the other only showed a 200 pts increase. It's a boost either way.

Worthwhile especially if on sale (I got mine for 200$). If you are buying this to upgrade from a pair of unmatched 1gb sticks so you can run dual channeled the upgrade can go either way. I did see a boost (went from 2x1gb samsung un-matched single channel to this kit) in the 3dmarks (01 and 05) but not as much as I expected. It may be a windows issue though as I need to do a format. If buying this as a new build or to replace lower stacks of ram (going from a 1gb total to a 2gb kit) then it's worth the extra. 2gb is tons of ram for the XP environment and this is definitely quality ram. |
