My friend had an older 2.8 GHz Athlon II in their garage gathering dust. I had .5 GB of RAM at the time. Following adding the Kingston .5 GB it now totals 1 GB of RAM, which is the most the mobo can handle. I installed Ubuntu Linux on it for this children. It is operating great for them. Basic operations, facebook, farmville, etc. None. We can only have 1 or two programs open on the Ubuntu workstation because of the high memory ceiling Gnome has for Ubuntu ten.ten. But we enjoy it!
