Cons:None
Pros:-Inexpensive when on sale-Par performance Comment:
It works as intended; I used it for Memtest without any problems. I'd advise getting it on sale as you could get a faster drive at the non-sale pricing. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-05-13 07:39 PM |

Kingston DT111/8GB 8GB USB 3.0 DataTraveler 111 USB Flash Drive
Cons:Write speed is really slow for a USB 3.0
Pros:Good value when on sale Comment:
Guess this product is marketed toward students who transfers only small files. The drive The write speed is 9-10mb, slow to ~4mb as the drive getting full. Read is around ~19mb--speed is similar to a UBS 2.0 drive. The cap feel loose when snap to the back of the drive. The drive sometime go on sale for $4.99 to reflect the drive performance. |

Kingston DT111/8GB 8GB USB 3.0 DataTraveler 111 USB Flash Drive
Cons:Write speeds are slow
Pros:USB 3.0, cheap Comment:
At $5 these were the right price to add two more flash drives to the collection. I posted detailed benchmarks in the forum. Real life sustained write speed is about 5 MB/s and read speeds are about 50 MB/s using USB 3.0. I'm going to make a bootable Linux drive and see how it performs. |

I bought two of these for music in the cars. Plenty fast enough for that. Crystal mark read speeds were 71MB read for both. 6MB write for both. 2Pass 50MB settings. HD tune had them reading at 80.6 average read speeds. |

Kingston DT111/8GB 8GB USB 3.0 DataTraveler 111 USB Flash Drive
Cons:Slow write speeds.
Pros:Inexpensive. Good read speeds. Good package with dust cap. Comment:
Good drive for the price. Tested read speed was 27 MB/s. Write was 5 MB/s. Well suited for use as a boot drive for O/S installs and system recovery utilities. Took off one star due to slow writes but it is still a very good value at the price. |

Kingston DT111/8GB 8GB USB 3.0 DataTraveler 111 USB Flash Drive
Cons:-not so fast
Pros:works as well as any cheap usb stick Comment:
Max read was 40MB/s and max write was 11MB/sI expected crap because I paid a low price so nothing to complain about. Just don't buy it for the USB 3.0 speeds. Consider the drive class 10, at best. |

There is not much to say. Works great and USB 3.0 is fast! I bought a few of them and i put Windows 7, Windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.04. It is very fast installing a OS from a bootable USB 3.0 key. I might buy some more and see if they are good for ready boost. |

Pros:VERY GOOD PRICE Comment:
This USB is a must-buy, its a good deal compared to other usbs on the market. Useful for school, work, everything ! |
I picked a few of these up for various purposes when they were on sale for $5/each. They perform like a $5 USB, so there isn't much negative that can be said. The read/write speeds are a little on the low side, but I've been using them to boot my ESXI hosts for months without any issues. All in all, I would purchase these again if they were to go on sale and I needed some inexpensive USB keys.
