Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:Failed within a week
Pros:Cheap Price Comment:
This drive failed after very little use. I only put one file on it. Now it won't even format. I have had a few flash drives fail on me recently, is the quality going downhill, or am i just unlucky? Why do I have to type extra words that are not necessary the drive is dead, what more can you say about it? windows doesn't give me any useful information about what is wrong with it. My experience with flash drives of late is becoming tiresome, why can't they just work? This 30 word minimum is pretty annoying. IS this enough? Can I stop typing now? Is this to stop people from giving feedback on the poorly made crap that is being imported from China these days? |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
kinda slow, the cap doesn't prevent dust and lint from entering the head.
Pros: it's cheap and reliable. The cap is built in. Comment:
It's not that fast, only about 7 megs/secs. But it's cheap and reliable. The twisting cap doesn't prevent lint and dust from getting into usb head. Its body is small and won't interfere with other usb units. |

Pros: Sale price Comment:
Basic USB key; I got this one for someone who needs to backup some pictures and word files. Speed is not important for him so for the price, this key was the best one to get. |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
none
Pros: Fast for a flash drivecaplessFeels fairly solidCheap Comment:
I got this for $12 shipped. Running an HD Tune benchmark, I got an avg of 16.8MB/s transfer rate. Putting a large file on, the write speed was ~14MB/s, which is the fastest I've personally seen for a USB flash drive and is sufficient for an 8GB drive.Highly recommended if you're looking for an 8GB drive. |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
The case has a cheap feel to it.
Pros: It works wellNice and small Comment:
If you buy it while it's on sale it's a great buy in my opinion. I have been transfering files arount 6-7 gigs all morning without a problem. It works well but the case is a light duty plastic and isn't very rugged.Overall I am pleased with this purchase. |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
feels cheap
Pros: CheapHigh(ish) capacity Comment:
Bought this when it was on sale, and the price could not have been better for 8GB of storage. Although the casing seems a little bit cheap (it's just light plastic), the memory itself seems solid. No issues yet. I've always liked Kingston products |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
unable to lock cap/cover
Pros: Great price, small size, lots of space Comment:
Great little USB flash drive. Quick speeds, small compact size, and reputable brand make for an excellent buy. The only downside is the cap/cover cannot be locked in place. Plus the 3 year warranty is a nice touch too! |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
- the metallic "cap" cannot be locked/snapped in place
Pros: - sleek and nice- metal "cap"- can be attached to a standard metal keychain Comment:
This is a pretty cool usb drive in terms of looks. It can also be attached to a standard keychain ring, which is awesome for me. However, it's not the fastest, and the cap cannot be locked/snapped (whatever the work is) in place. |

Cons:
None.
Pros: Fast transfers, durable Comment:
Happy with the product, got it on sale, it has decent transfers times, it can take a drop or two and leaves your data integrity. Its nice looking, I wish the covered end was a little more "covered" so it doesnt get so much pocket lint in it. |

Pros: Does the job Comment:
I purchased the Kingston 8GB USB as one of my primary usb drives that I use on a daily basis. The drive performs good for the price. I just wish it was retractable instead of swivel. |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
transfer speed
Pros: No cap to lose Comment:
Not the greatest transfer speed, but it's only 8GBs of space - let's be real, it doesn't take that long. Does the job just fine for the small files I am using it for (word docs, ppts, etc.) |

Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red
Cons:
-no activity LED-connector cover easy to catch on things
Pros: -good size-sturdy Comment:
I'm pretty pleased with this purchase - I've been waiting a while for 8GB drives to hit a realistic price, and this one doesn't disappoint. The shape doesn't really appeal to me, but I have to admit it works well - it fits into crowded USB ports next to other "normal" sized plugs without issue, and the casing is very strong. I haven't tested the speed, but I have it formatted as NTFS to accept >4GB files and it seems quick enough. The downsides are the lack of an activity LED, and that although the cover is pretty well designed, the edges are rough and they can catch on things in a bag/pocket/etc. The lanyard holes are cut the same way; if you use a plastic or fabric lanyard, you may want to file down the edges of these holes a bit so it doesn't abrade it as much. |
Used this drive for 4 days and I've been using it nearly 24/7 and it's held up pretty darned well with the abuse I put it though. It's pretty durable and a lot tougher than the Kingston DataTraveler 101 G3 4GB USB Flash Drive WHITE/GRAY, which doesn't like to hold data for very long. Sometimes it wouldn't even hold it for more than a couple of hours. I put data on it, wake up the next morning and the drive ate the data. All in all, the Kingston DataTraveler 101 G2 8GB Capless USB Flash Drive Red is a much sturdier drive and if I were to get another usb drive I would get a G2 again. I had good experience with the g2s but bad experience with the g3s
