I also felt compelled to write a review after reading those posted here. I run this beast with an Ubuntu Linux web/fileserver and an eSATA card also sold by LaCie. After reading the instructions, which appears to be a problem for some users, I had zero problems setting up RAID5, and have had none since.Now remember that this drive is hardware RAID, faster than software RAID for most modes, especially striped modes like RAID5. It's also totally trouble free. Did I mention LaCie quality and design?
