LG 8X External Slim 8X DVD Burner USB

This drive is great for use with netbooks and nettops, or machines that still have a CD-only drive. While there are much cheaper external drives out there, this LG drive has them beat in terms of size. With current consumer technology, I don't see any way that they could make it any smaller while still being able to contain a CD-sized disc inside it, and that makes it perfect for carting around with you for random tech emergencies... All you need is the drive and the included 2xUSB cable and you're set.I've been using LG DVD writers since the GSA-4081B back in 2003, and the majority of my experiences with them have been excellent. They provide wide format compatibility and good read/write speeds. The specs on this model are fairly low, but it is obviously designed with portability as the priority, and may not stand up well to burning a closet-full of backups. That said, it does just fine for those random installation discs and cheap + disposable photo compilations for distant family members.
