Affordable Blu-ray reader with DVD writer combo, easy to install, worked right away. Got up to 25MB/s read speed, seek time not so bad. Reasonably quiet. I'm enjoying watching Blu-rays with this drive. |
Wanted to play blurays in the HTPC. This was the cheapest drive I could find. Ridiculous that bluray drives are so expensive, but not much I can do about that. It works, came with some software that plays blurays. The software is junk and rather bloaty, but you kind of need it to play the blurays, and once you're running you don't really notice the bloat.I have no reason to get this particular model again if something cheaper or with better software comes along.
