LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:Stand feels a little flimsy, power "button" requires extra pressure at times, don't care for glossy bezels though it does look nice when there's no fingerprints
Pros:Very good colour representation with deep blacks, lightweight, thin, easy cable hookups, price point Comment:
A great buy considering it was less than $200 and for that it exceeded expectations. Bought a second one for a client recently who's an amateur photographer and he loves this monitor for his hobby.I don't play too many games but I didn't notice any ghosting which can sometimes happen with IPS. |

LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:no height adjustment, turn
Pros:great crisp look Comment:
a pretty good monitor, especially for an IPS to price ratio it is not bad. it is very bright, gives the option for hdmi output. the only thing that i would've wanted is the height adjustment since i will be using this as a main monitor and having this monitor on the table itself is quite low and need to raise it to avoid strain to my neck. |

LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:Some backlight bleedingNo height adjust
Pros:Good price for an IPS panelGreat colorGood viewing anglesLow power consumptionNice designNo stuck/dead pixelsHDMI input Comment:
Being an IPS panel, this monitor has much better viewing angles than most of the cheap TN panels out there. I didn't spend a lot of time adjusting the picture, and while I do have a colorimeter, I didn't actually take any measurements. But I consider myself to have a pretty good eye for grayscale and color accuracy, and this monitor looks pretty good in Movie mode - much better color accuracy than any TN panel I've seen.Only real issue I have with it, is that there's noticeable backlight bleeding on the top left and bottom right of the monitor. Backlight bleed is fairly common with LCDs though. Lowering the brightness from the default scorching bright 100 made it less noticeable. On sale, this monitor isn't priced much higher than cheaper TN monitors, so I definitely recommend spending a few extra $ on this - especially if color and viewing angles are important. |

LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:Anti-Glare Coating [takes getting used to]Cheap Base [works well tho]Nothing Else the Monitor colors makes up for all the cons
Pros:Wicked Insane Rich Colors [After Self Calibration]Crisp Text Menu Buttons basic and easy to use Comment:
decided to go with this after countless tn panels, swapped a samsung p2770 and do not regret it, at first i though dropping down from a 27 to a 23 would be too much to deal with, but honestly it just feels right at this size, the colors on this after tweaking destroy anything iv ever used, and iv been a mid-high range of monitors guy, my tv is an s-ips and still beats this monitor but its the best monitor in its price range for sure. still not 100% clear if the panel is e-ips or similar because a lg rep claimed it was indeed an s-ips but after a pixle check i can confirm the pixles are straight rectangles, not the chevron shape as s-ips or as-ips unbelievable colors when calibrated, almost too good for the price purchase, and adjust...factory settings are bland |

LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:none I cant think off
Pros:LG Quality, brightness and sharpness very good.Native HDTrue 23Inch Comment:
Finally I got for myself new IPS monitor, the honest truth is: this monitor colors and the quality of the imagesa re excellent, ofcourse you have to tweek the setting at first to get the best or optimal view for your eyes because factory settings are crap.Using Photoshop Im happy all the way, games: SC2 no flickers or glims, same story with COD or BF. Despite the response rated at 8ns unlessyou are a heavy hard core gamer you wount notice the flicks etc..On special this monitor its a steal deal.Cheers This review was modfied by poster @ 01-05-12 11:59 AM |

LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:-Entry level (not the best IPS)-8MS response time (haven't had any issues with gaming though, only played SC2)
Pros:-Best bang for the buck IPS (Entry level)-Color/ Image quality better than any TN monitor that I had (and i've only had TNs) Comment:
-This is a great monitor for trying out the IPS field. I love it so far. Only con is that it's not the best IPS but that is reflected in the price. |

LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:light leakage in the cornersdoes not use an IEC power cable
Pros:lightweightthin!LED backlitIPS display Comment:
This monitor gives a great image, when looking at images, or your desktop.Since it has an edge-lit LED backlight, there is significant leakage in the corners when looking at a black, or dark image (such as a dark movie, or during startup when the screen is mostly black)The monitor comes with an AC adapter, which is okay in itself, however the power cable that connects to the brick isn't a standard IEC connector, so you can't just substitute a spare power cable in there if you lose yours, or need a different length.Overall a very nice monitor, though! |

LG IPS236V 23IN Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Monitor IPs 1920X1080 5ms 5000000:1 VGA DVI HDMI
Cons:Slight light bleed in corner, thick lower bezel for controlsfantastic but not perfect viewing angle6-bit color production
Pros:16:9Thin Bezel, can debezelIPS Comment:
$180 blk Fri-Mon sale. Bought one, then three, then more for eyefinity. Can find settings online for perfect reproduction, turn down the brightness and enjoy the color. The 6-bit panel won't reproduce all colors but reading text is a joy and it's fast enough for games. Replaced a 16:10 24" TN, I don't regret it. |
Hard to find things to complain about with this, especially at the price. I don't care for the adjustability of the included stand, but it does have VESA mounts, so if I really cared, I could roll my own.
