LINKSYS ETHERFAST 10/100 16PORT NETWORK SWITCH
Cons:None
Pros:- Reliable Brand- Good Price - Much better than F/S or BB- support for 16 comps Comment:
Bought this for my Business office which is expanding and putting in more computer stations so need to upgrade to a 16 port from an 8 port switch. Great price and no problems so far. |

LINKSYS ETHERFAST 10/100 16PORT NETWORK SWITCH
Cons:light case can be pulled around by cables easily
Pros:Cheap, lots of ports, works Comment:
I have up until now pretty much used business solution switches and hubs (nortel business policy switch 2000 etc...)this is a nice little switch that's compact, nice auto sensing 10/100 half/full etc... Uplink port mdi/mdix can come in handy when connecting between switches. The cost is dirt cheap, and coming from a brand that I trust (linksys) is a bit surprising. The case is small and light, which is nice for placement and moving, but can easily get pulled by cables, especially since you can plug 16 into this guy. It'd be pretty easy for this guy to start falling off shelves and such if 16 cables are pulling in the right direction. |

LINKSYS ETHERFAST 10/100 16PORT NETWORK SWITCH
Cons:none so far
Pros:Affordable, easy setup, lots of ports. Comment:
I had been running an old 10Mbit hub that was slowing down my own system (plus it only had 8 ports, and I was running out). This jumped the speed of my network up to 100Mbit (full duplex too, so maybe it actually can transfer at double that) and I have plenty of ports to spare. Setup was a snap, I just plugged it all in.It worked great with me Linksys Cable/DSL router too.Heck of a deal for such a nice product. |

LINKSYS ETHERFAST 10/100 16PORT NETWORK SWITCH
Cons:Wish the led readout was on the same side as the plugs (just for switch maintenance reasons, you don't wanna run to the front of the rack if its in one).
Pros:Its a 16 port switch, does what a switch does. Comment:
Its a switch.. does what it does very well, I had no problems with it when i installed it. RJ45's slide in nice and snug for a good fit.. I would have rather bought the metalic version of this switch but its 5-10 days order, and I was on a time deadline. |

LINKSYS ETHERFAST 10/100 16PORT NETWORK SWITCH
Cons:Minor complaint about a lock up
Pros:Good transmit speeds, easy setup Comment:
Bought four of these awhile ago. Installed them very easily other than had to wiggle some (4 out of 60 or so) of the RJ45 connectors on the cat5 cables to get the connector all the way into the port, might have been a problem with the RJ45 connectors though. Only problem was that one of the switches wouldn't allow traffic out so I turned it off and back on again and all was well. Going to buy 4 more in before the end of the year. |
I bought this for the house. Each room has an ethernet jack, so I needed every port. You just plug it in and forget about it. I previously had 3 routers nested with DHCP disabled... that did not work very well. This is a much better solution.
