Cons:Logging is not as good as I thought. I wanted "packet logging" (log ALL data). The s/w that comes with it has a buggy display.

Overall, it was an "ok" purchase. But, for the price ~$85 I would've expected a little bit more in the way of logging. From what I can see, there is no packet logging. Even if there IS packet logging, it is not readily visible. In anycase, I think I looked at all the options pretty carefully.The s/w that comes with it has a buggy display. The column titles and data doesn't line up. Crazy eh?The h/w itself is good. No problems as of yet except for the ones already mentioned.. |

I've used this for over 2 years with my ADSL connection and later, with cable. I've had absolutely no problems with it so far, and the only complaint is that at one point I wanted to open up a few extra ports for numerous applications on different computers and it only allows 10 max. Maybe a firmware update might solve this... any ideas? Overall I like it very much and wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed a replacement. |

Cons:poor firmware update clarification there is really only 1 model just use the newest firmware 1.45.3/release:Sept/26/03.
Pros:Easy setup for PPPoe,run, in adv. firewall enable, try allow all underneath that if general surfer though. Comment:
Unit is a fast setup if on PPPoe account,keep connection alive enable,change adjacent default to 20 seconds.If a general surfer you can under advanced tab block wan request-of course enable,multicast pass thru-disable,Ipsec pass thru-disable,remote management-disable,remote upgrade-disable,MTU-manual @ 1492.At the password tab you can cahnge Upnp function-no,Upnp control-no. Good idea with any router to mark your setings down. |
this is a great product maek usre u upgrade ot letest firmware so u dont get any problems while installing i did a couple box hacks to get most out of it based on other reviews =)
