Stay Away From This Product
Comment:
While the case is made reasonably well and network was easy to set up, this product was a disappointment to me. It seems that every time I shut down the my laptop I have to reboot the router to get a signal again. I would rather plug in an ethernet cable, or better yet get a rtouter that actually keeps the network available. |

Great product for a great price

It is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. Has great range - mine is set up inside a newer metal-frame building and still gets the signal through to all the offices. It was a snap to set up. I agree that their tech support is not that great. In researching this product I called them. I was told that this device couldn't handle more than a single computer connecting to it. That it wouldn't be able to pass-through more than a single IP address. I knew that wasn't true and bought it anyway, and have numerous systems connected. Anyway, even if you've never set up a wireless access point, you'll be able to get this going with no trouble. I gave it all fives because it is doing exactly what I expected of it. |

I have been using the linksys WAPs for home wireless networking for years. The first one (wireless B)quit after a few years (thus the quality mark), this second one has been working for over 3 years. Easy to use and setup if you know what wireless networking needs. One trap you can fall into is plug and play. Sure it works, but it creates a default network with generic network name that everyone sees and can use from the neighborhood, plus the access to the built in web page for admin has a generic username and password that anyone can use. Change them all, set up a security key for encryption, change the network ID, turn off the broadcast for network ID (you'll have to enter it on each device you connect only once), and turn off the broadcast. Decent quality of service features and security, but you have to use it. I have it in my home office, and the range is limited through walls, but no worse that wireless phones. In spite of this, I like it, best value for the home user. |

I have owned this since 2007. It works pretty well most of the time, however, does seem to endure some interference at times. I must directly connect to my computer and reprogram on occasion due to loss of connectivity. I do not know why it does this on occasion, however, it is quite a hassle. My main use is to stream media from my server to my television. Use and installation is very easy, and overall use is easy. Value is good, I just wish there was less instance of failure when transmitting data. |

I have had this unit for about 1 year. I use it to transfer registration and race data between two computers when running my AWANA Grand Prix racetrack and finish-line detect system. I just purchased another unit that I'm planning to use at work. It is very easy to use... and I would strongly recommend this unit to anyone... 5 star rating!! |

i have had this access point for about a year and a half now. it has been working flawlessly since day one. and to quote rcflyer12: ''dont buy this router had 2 fail tech help is worthless and you have to pay for your return shipping both router did the same thing would drop out of connection with out any warning and would have to reset router at least twice a week a real pain this router is acomplete pos'' first of all, it isn't a router; it is an access point. second of all, the AP doesn't drop connections at all. it has to be the wireless card in your computer. it isn't a piece of s**t either. just b/c u don't know what you're doing doesn't make the AP a POS. it makes you stupid. learn how to set it up properly and it'll work perfectly. and a word of advice, DO NOT USE THE DISK THAT COMES WITH IT! it is for idiots who don't know how to set up a network. just hook it up, access it by IP address, and configure it the way you want it. |

I've had this router for almost 6 months now. When it works, it works great, but it will occassionally start packet looping and the wireless network goes down. Unplug it for a few seconds and then all is well untill the next time. Cannot seem to find any pattern as to when it does this. Also had the power supply go bad. Fortunately I had another one that worked but it was a hassle to get a replacement. I'm not suggesting to avoid this product, but this has been my experience. And I do use other Linksys products as well. |

This product is very good, I set it up in about 10 minutes. Setup is simple, all you need to do is put in the disk, and attach the access point to your network. I installed it in a large office, and it works great when employees bring in laptops or PDAs. I would definitely recommend this product to ANYONE for ANY purpose. |

Nice AP that's easy to set up and has very good range. I've used these for all sorts of uses, wireless client, repeater, or network bridge and it's done the job and it's done it well. I've used them with the stock Linksys firmware as well as DD-WRT which will also run on these boxes(at least on version 2 hardware). Nice product. |

Excellent product! I bought 3 of these for various places in my building. Great coverage...much better than the Trendware and Netgear WAPs I've had before. Easy setup--5 minutes or less. If you want to mount this in your building out of sight (i.e. in the ceiling) don't forget to pick up a Linksys Power over Ethernet adapter kit! Works great. Excellent buy and great value! Never mind the cheaper alternative from Netgear. Pay the extra $13 and get a quality product from a division of Cisco! |

Easiest setup of any access point ever! The guided setup via CD was a piece of cake. Automatic discovery of device over the network. DHCP enabled. Security enabled. Surfing the Internet securely within 5 minutes. Linksys makes quality products. I returned a TrendWare WAP that was an absolute piece of junk. I had sent it back to the company 3 times and it returned defective each time. The TrendWare product took HOURS to try and setup, mostly owed to poor quality antenna and transceiver. Won't have that problem with the Linksys unit. 5 stars! |

Very reliable. Great built in security. Fast speeds. |
I have been using this product for years in my home and it has exceeded expectations. I have hardly had to touch it... it just sits out of site and out of mind and works. I have the 128-bit WEP set up to keep people off of my network and have never had any problems. Mine has been extremely reliable, I would recommend to anyone looking for wireless without the routing functionality (I already had a router).
