When I tried to burn a data dvd with this burner It wouldn't recognize the dvd-r media that I tried to use. All new blank disks, I ended up using CD media instead.

This is a nice portable DVD Writer. It seems a little flimsy, but as long as you don't drop it or toss it around, it should last you a long time. The cable is a bit too short for me, but it tucks in underneath the writer itself for easy storage when transporting it around. Comes with a carrying bag as well.

I purchased this item to provide external backup for a recently purchased Netbook computer. I was concerned that the Netbook USB port may not provide sufficient power for the external drive. My concerns were unfounded. Works perfectly,no probs so far.
