LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:
damned things wear out to soon - as if they were programmed to do so
Pros: comfort, great feel & smooth action Comment:
.........i've been using these Logitech marble mice for years now for almost all my computing chores, just not for gaming. They are so comfortable and cooperative. Almost the opposite of a regular mouse. The only problem is that they only last a year, so i've gone through several of them. After a year or so the little contact switch wears out and can't be repaired because its inside a tiny sealed module. Pity. Otherwise the thing is about perfect. |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:Gets dirty fastLearning curve
Pros:SizeComfortNo more wrist pain Comment:
I love this mouse. Finally something I can rest my whole hand on (I have large hands). It does take some time getting used to it, you just want to move it around the first couple of times, but once you get used to it, it's awesome. So much better for my wrist. And I'll like to fling that ball aroud when I'm bored. Only problem is the ball loses its spinnyness pretty fast due to dust and dirt build up on the little balls. Simply pop it out using the whole under the mouse and clean the inside real fast. Just wish I wouldn't have to do it once a week. The rest is excellent! Logitech = great quality as always! |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:for me it seems to require re-learning how to move cursor, precision and accuracy are much harder with uneducated thumb
Pros:works well with windows and linux right out of the box Comment:
I bought this to relieve strain, it does that but I didn't realize how hard it would be to get used to it. |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:not enough buttonsisn't quite as comfortable as the original Marble trackman
Pros:doesn't cause carpal tunnel syndrome like a mouse does Comment:
I've been using the original Marble Trackman (the one in white/beige color) for more than 10-12 years now. Even since I've felt a funny sensation in my arm from using the mouse for a long period of time, I told myself that i'd have to try something else to prevent anything serious from happening. I tried the trackball and never looked back. This grey color version isn't quite as confortable as the original white version of the trackball for my hand. Your mileage may vary. I'm still using the original Trackman at the moment. May have to go on Ebay to buy several more, enough to last me until I die... Who wants to petition Logitech to get them to restart their production of the discontinued original model? :) |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:As with any other mouse/trackball, the buttons sometime stop working...
Pros:Good reliable trackball with doesn't take a lot of space on your desk. Comment:
I have been buying this mouse (or the older design) for most of my PCs for many years now. The current design is not as nice as the old one but I still prefer this to using a mouse. |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:none
Pros:precise tracking and very solid Comment:
Been using trackballs for the past twenty years. it is my preferred input method, though I use them together with mices and pens to introduce variety of movements to my hand and reduce the risk of injury through repetitive strain. Logitech's Trackman is the best pointing device I ever had. This is already the third one as I take them on the road with my notebook. It's just perfectly fit in my hand. |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:Will take a long time for you to get used to it.Harder to do draw straight lines and in FPS games you have to circle the head during fast aiming.
Pros:Takes less space to use.Easier for selecting troops and moving the camera in RTS games. Comment:
I've been using Logitech Trackman mice ever since 1990 and still love them today. I use them at 15 degrees to the left and get no strain at all on my thumb or wrist. This review was modfied by poster @ 11-18-07 05:51 AM |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:Takes a while to get used to
Pros:Great for gaming, smaller ball, dont have to move hand around! Comment:
I have been using trackball mice for about 10 years now for gaming and general surfing of the web. This model has been the best I have tried. MS's trackball I found too big with logitechs its easier and more percise. |

Have used Logitech trackballs before, but was using a MS trackball for the last few years. Not much difference really. The Logitech 'feels' a bit better. |

Pros:good for your wrist, comfortable Comment:
I got this to help reduce strain on my wrist. It did relieve stress on my wrist but my thumb got tired from using this trackball. It's hard to get accustomed to using the trackball if you are accustomed to using mouse. |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:right-handed only, hard to do precision work
Pros:no more RSI, easy to clean, smooth-rolling ball, no need to oil the ball Comment:
I have been using the TrackMan Wheel at home and work for several years now. While they are certainly not very good for precision work, they are pretty much the best trackball I have found. The trackball is easy to clean (and don't let anyone tell you that you don't need to clean a trackball- grey filth will build up on the three small contacts that the ball sits on, reducing performance) and it is very comfortable to use, if you are right-handed. This is clearly not the trackball for you if you are left-handed.Compared to the Microsoft trackball I had previously, this is worlds better. With the MS trackball, you would literally have to oil the ball, and it would frequently dry out and you would just find that all the moisture had formed a thick crust which was almost impossible to clean. Not so with the Logitech. I think it has something to do with what material they use for the contacts, but that is just a guess.Overall, highly recommended if you are in the market for a trackball. None of the RSI problems that mice have, I have had no fatigue problems at all with my wrists since I switched to trackballs. |

LOGITECH TRACKMAN WHEEL OPTICAL USB PS/2 BILINGUAL
Cons:Ball is kind of small, it would be easier to use with a larger ball.
Pros:Feels good in your handEasier on the wrist than a normal mouseMove cursor with your thumb, instead of fingers like other trackballs Comment:
Great input device. I strongly suggest using a trackball. It takes a few days to get used to, and a few months to get good with. Awesome input device. |
I used to get really bad Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but since switching to a trackball, I will never be able to go back. I use it at work and at home. As others have mentioned it does take a while to get used to but when you do, you will swear by them too. I use it for gaming and I found I can be more precise with it, especially sniping games.
