Lenovo FLEX2 Ultrabook I5-4210U Widi 8GB RAM 128GB SSD 14.0IN FHD Touch Screen Windows 8.1
Cons:Only 1080p screen
Pros:Thin and light. Comment:
I was looking for a Yoga 2, but was swayed by the lower cost of this Flex 2. It's a fine notebook, though it would be nice if it had the high-res screen of the Yoga 2. It should be noted that during the initial Windows 8 startup there was no option to not provide/create a Microsoft account. |

Lenovo FLEX2 Ultrabook I5-4210U Widi 8GB RAM 128GB SSD 14.0IN FHD Touch Screen Windows 8.1
Cons:- Glossy screen
Pros:- Fast- Light- Solid- Screen can rotate 300 degrees Comment:
I'll be honest, I had a certain criteria when purchasing an ultrabook, it needed an SSD and a 1080p screen. This was the best priced ultrabook I could get to have those two things. On top of it, this ultrabook has 8GB of RAM and an i5, which is IMO a solid setup. Unfortunately, it came with a gorilla glass touchscreen display.Don't get me wrong, It's nice to have a touch screen. It certainly has its uses but I could have lived without it. My only gripe with this is that the screen is very glossy, so sometimes it's difficult to see what's on the display when there's sunlight, especially when watching dark movies.Besides all that, this laptop is great and I don't regret my purchase, I knew full well there was going to be a glossy screen, but I bit the bullet to get the features I wanted, especially since not many laptops have 1080p, which is disappointing. I use it primarily for school work and the picture looks fantastic, especially at this resolution. It just gives me so much real estate to work with, especially since I'm learning to program. This particular model (Silver/Grey) actually has an aluminum palm rest instead of plastic which is really nice and you can rotate the screen 300 degrees to watch movies in a better position. This thing, despite being light also feels very solid and the performance is excellent. Just for the heck of it, I was also playing with the touchscreen, and it's surprinsingly responsive, just like a decent tablet. I definitely recommend this ultrabook, especially ones who are looking for these features at this price (got it on sale for $829.99). This review was modfied by poster @ 02-06-15 06:43 AM |
Overall, this laptop is very good if you're looking for a portable, performance laptop that is not too expensive.I got this laptop when it was on sale from the Lenovo website and it outperforms many laptops around the same price. The issues I had were mainly towards the wifi. When I use it at school, the wifi is very random at times where I load things quickly and when I can't load things at all. There are also many complaints about the wifi card in this laptop so beware.
