purchased this unit for mobile audio production and medium gaming. Does great on both accounts. The 500 GB hard drive is a WD caviar blue. I removed it and replaced with a 60GB SSD drive to go along with the pre-installed 30GB Samsung SSD. Not a ton of room but enough for my needs. This laptop absolutely screams with a SSD drive and win 7 black edition. About 12 seconds to boot into windows. All apps load extremely quickly as well. The HD 5730 video card will run most modern games at med-high settings. Good enough for a person who wants to play the odd game and get pleasing results without having to break the bank. overall build quality of the this unit is very good. It felt really light at first which worried me, but the actual construction feels solid. All the keys and buttons feel high quality, nothing feels flimsy or that it will break easily. All around i'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a great performing laptop for under $1000 that has a decent video card. two thumbs up!
