Plug and Play, operates without drivers on my HP Laserjet 6P printer, using Windows XP. I just selected my printer port in the manage panel to use the "USB" port. It's packaging came with an unlabeled driver mini-cd which is unreadable by my tray loading cd player. This is annoying. Luckily it's not needed. Other people say it didn't operate. It functions perfectly for me. I really like that I don't have to install any drivers other than the automatic windows ones, "Found new hardware, installing drivers automatically" worked for the initially time I've ever seen on a new affordable hardware. For Ű, what a deal. |

none! this isn't really what was advertised... even even though the listed features says "Bi-directional parallel interface communication,Fully compatible with all parallel printers", the connector is actually an older connection kind utilized by antique printers, not the IEEE 1284 normal/DB-25 connector a lot more normally identified as "Parallel" port connection every person knew just ahead of USB became dominant. So know you know, this is NOT a parallel to USB adapter. waste of my time and cash D=< |

Detected and supported by current vintages of Windows, makes it possible for many parallel printers with no using a switch box (just add a USB hub if you run out of USB ports). When the cable is consistently detected as a "USB Printing Support" device, the attached printer is not always detected. My old DeskJet was detected fine (bidirectional support), but I got an "UnknownPrinter" device detected when I attached my LJIII clone, and just had to manually map the printer to the found printer port. Looks like a CD was when integrated based on the CD-shaped bulge in the package, but you should not need drivers for something right after Windows 2000. |

It performs with an HP laserjet none I could install the printer with the Microsoft drivers but it wouldn't print. Right after installing the drivers from HPs internet site it performs fine. |

Very cheap and operates fairly properly as described. I was hoping for a cable that would show up as a standard parallel port for an older plan that only works with a parallel port such as "LPT1", it wasn't clear in the description so I took a possibility. No such luck, it only shows up as a printer not in any port listing. For the cost it's nevertheless a keeper. |

Installed very easily. Worked good for a month. Just stopped working. Laptop or computer will not detect printer. I tried other usb ports, resetting printer, reinstalling printer, energy-cycling, and so on. I am convinced it's the cable as the pc merely won't detect the hardware device. |

None Did not operate This cable did not operate on Win XP Property Edition with my older model Brother laser printer. Upon plugging in the cable, the printer was detected properly. Nevertheless, I could not get anything to print at all. It was a waste of cash, and it was not worth returning the cable due to the fact the return shipping would have expense virtually as significantly as the cable itself. |

See my prior evaluation Died after a month. I wanted to update my prior assessment because I bought a new adaptor and the printer was detected instantly. So it absolutely was this adaptor that failed. |

Inexpensive. Shipped quick, 1 day! (The warehouse 1 state over made for some fast shipping)Worked with no having to install drivers on supplied CD. Just went to Properties, then Ports and checked the USB box.(I have a HP 5550) None so far. IEEE 1284-B is what the port is labeled as (on the HP 5550, atleast). |

Inexpensive, decent cable length. Didn't function with my HP Laserjet four and Win XP Attempted tweaking the XP driver extensively, turned off bi-directional and print spooling, but it by no means worked correctly. When printer did manage to print, it was mostly junk data or distorted graphics. I've used other comparable merchandise with better results. |
Worked instantaneously and flawlessly with Windows Vista, New Dell C521, and HP 722C Printer None Worked excellent, no issues, Great price!! Save your money and your older parallel printer
