Works well on Windows
Comment:
I've been using this switch for about 2 years now without any major issues. The only problem I had with it is that most Linux distros have trouble with the second monitors resolution because they only see the KVM switch and not the monitor. |

Bad product
Comment:
It worked for a day or so, then started loosing the keyboard and mouse. A reset of both systems might fix it, but then as I was working on software, the keyboard and or mouse was gone again! Lousy piece of junk. Do not purchase! Now I have to see if I can get my money back. I huge waste of time on my part dealing with this. |

Not A Reliable Product
Comment:
I also bought this unit due to a review which bragged about the reliability. Recently I had resigned my workstations for about 3 months, and have had nothing but problems since, the biggest being only 1 monitor working. After about 5 attempts at rebooting the switch with tech support I now face a bunch of red tape with RMA requests and the like. For the price of these, you would think an issue like this would be addressed with offers of a new or refurbed unit being offered. Very dissappointed. |

Linkskey LDV-DM702AUSK KVM Switch - 2-Port, Dual DVI Support, USB, Sound
Comment:
I bought this switch because other reviewers said it does what it says it does. It doesn't, though. When I first installed the Linkskey DM702AUSK, following the instructions precisely, it worked well. A couple of days later, I had my first problem. After switching from computer 2 to computer 1, both the keyboard and mouse stopped working. A restart fixed it, but it was still annoying. A couple days later, the mouse stopped working. I didn't do a switch or anything. It just stopped. Yesterday the keyboard went off again. I called Linkskey support and was given someone wasn't so good with English. He ran me through a reset process that got the keyboard on but lost the mouse. When I turned on the machine this evening...neither the keyboard, nor mouse, nor any of my USB devices work. Shoddy piece of junk or lousy software, I don't know. I just know I'm tired of crawling around the back of my computer unplugging things and plugging them back in again. Recommend you avoid Linkskey. |
I purchased this product to use with a new computer with a GeForce GTX 295 video card and dual 24 in monitors (1900x1200 native resolution). Suffice it to say that the switch was unable to provide reliable results at this resolution with Windows 7 64-bit and even at lower resolutions, the picture was noisy. I returned this switch and replace it with one from I O Gear (4-Port Dual View Dual-Link DVI KVMP Switch with Audio) and it works like a charm.
