Linksys WRT54G2-RM, re-certified by Linksys, Wireless G Router
Cons:Not wireless N, not sure if it is compatible with DDRWT
Pros:Linksys brand, easy setup, quite reliable Comment:
Got this router very cheap when on sale, it works great out of box, very easy setup, and I haven't experience any disconnection problem so I am quite happy with it. The only difference between a refurbished one and a new one is probably the warranty, which only has 90 days for the refurbished. But really, if it does not have any problem within 90 days, it is unlikely it will develop a problem within one year. I'd rather save some money. The only drawback I can see is that wireless N router is going to be standard in the future, plus I am not sure if this is fully compatible with ddrwt or tomato firmware, but it works out of box for me, so no need to update. Also, I don't understand why newer Linksys does not have any antenna, it seems to be an antenna will improve the signal strength. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-31-09 01:31 AM |

Linksys WRT54G2-RM, re-certified by Linksys, Wireless G Router
Cons:Price if paying regular price
Pros:Build Quality, Speed Comment:
Although this is a refurbished router, it runs smoothly. Plug and play device, no need for other installations, just put in the number on the bottom of router into windows and voila! everything set up. At sale this price (20CAD), it is hard to find a deal like this for wireless G. |

Linksys WRT54G2-RM, re-certified by Linksys, Wireless G Router
Cons:Only some version can flashed to DD-WRT micro, support only DD-WRT micro version not full...
Pros:Price, some version can be flashed with DD-WRT micro Comment:
Got this for a friend who live in an apartment and wants to able to browse the web with his notebook anywhere in the apartment. About $26 shipped, not a bad deal. This router gets hot, much hotter than my Linksys 54G V2.2, my friend got a V1.0 G2 and he flashed to DD-WRT Micro firmware since Linksys own firmware is not as stable.Bottom line is since G are phasing out and dropping in price, if you could get an Asus for about same price go for the Asus instead since it support both Tomato and full version of DD-WRT. |

Linksys WRT54G2-RM, re-certified by Linksys, Wireless G Router
Cons:Refurbished (this is what we paid for)heat HOT HOT HOTno instruction or any booklet just a installation cd
Pros:Price (got in special)it's a cisco linksys Comment:
this is a fully tested Refurbished router so it work but for how many time it's a risk. but probably work for long time remember it's cisco linksys. good brand. This is not the best technology on the market but for basic needs (average speed and average distance) perfect. Comes with a network cable. Recommand if you dont pay too much look to do pricematch with the concurence for good price |
Wireless G is still more than enough for most users. If I needed another good looking router I won't hesitate to purchase this again.
