- Bought it to see if it'll be more fun flying with a joystick rather than a mouse. Ended up sticking with the mouse (planetside 2), but being able to try out the alternative at a cheap price is kind of cool. Will probably use it in some other flying games.

What a great pleasure to play with a joystick again. I only had 2 joysticks before this one, but they were very good. I had the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro 1 and then the Pro 2. Both were top notch joysticks with magnetic sensors and very good force feedback. Back in those days, I used to play X-Wing, Freespace and even racing games with joysticks. Then, my FF Pro 2 broke and I never bothered since.Few weeks ago I saw Elite:Dangerous game and fell in love with it. But I had no joysticks. Oh noes ! Then the Extreme 3D was on sale at 25$ on Boxing Day. Yay ! It doesn't have Force Feedback, but to be honest not a lot of joysticks have them today really. Joysticks aren't as popular as they used to be.So for the past few days I've been configuring my Extreme 3D with my G13 for Elite:Dangerous. I love the grip on the joystick. It fits very well and is comfortable. It is not for left handed people. People who are looking for this will want to move up to a Thrustmaster T-16000M, which can be right or left handed.The quality build is Logitech grade. My keyboard, mouse, G13, joystick and Harmony remote is all Logitech. In my opinion, they do great product at a great price.Logitech isn't as good in their software though. I have the Logitech Gaming Software latest version for my G13 and I thought that plugging in my joystick would detect it into the software. No. The drivers installed properly on Windows 7, but if I wanted a software to manage the joystick, I had to install a previous version of the Logitech Gaming Software lastly updated in 2011. I installed this version and it messed up both my joystick and G13. Some keys wouldn't work in games but in Windows. Few hours later, I uninstalled the old version of the LGS and everything worked properly. Therefore, I would recommend to not install anything when plugging in the joystick. Let Windows handle everything.For 25$ on sale, it is the best joystick you can get. At normal price (around 40$), there is the Thrustmaster T-16000M about 10-20$ more. The Thrusmaster has magnetic sensors and will last forever. The Extreme 3D is a spring and will eventually loose precision and you'll have to increase the deadzone in games.I give it 4/5 stars. It is the best when on sale. If you are a beginner who wants to try out joysticks, get it. If you are a casual gamer planning to play few hours per week with it, get it. If you are an intensive gamer, then I would recommend looking at a joystick with a magnetic sensor.

Well I just bought this one after my old Logitech Attack 3 died on me, This one will take some time getting use to due it's extra force you need to move it around. But its very good and precise accuracy.

I like the customized buttons and comfortable grip this product offers. Build quality is good too. It's definitely a good choice for games like BF 4.

Works great, bought it for BF3, and planning to also use it for BF4. Like people said already, only downside is you have to manually configure all the buttons in game options for the joystick controls.

I bought it for the Falcon 4.0 Simulator and have been using it for a couple of years now. It's extremely easy to use and provides you with all the controls you need.

Bought joystick mainly to fly jets in BF3. Unit is well-built and feels good to use but requires time to set up because software support is lacking. Must be prepared to manually configure all buttons for each game since it does not come with any predefined profiles that work out of the box. Ok...it does come with one profile: GRID (I mean who drives a car with a joystick???)

I bought this with the intent to use with BF3, but there are conflicts with this joystick and the belkin game controller that I am using, so i am unable to use it at the moment. Would probably work fine otherwise.

The throttle thingy may seem a poor man's flakey feature, but actually works quite well. There's a bit of dampening to it, and it is quite accurate. The hat thing on the top is 8-way instead of full 360 analog, so looking around is very awkward and there is still a need for a trackIR (but then again trackIR users probably are beyond this level of joysticks).

Great Joystick for the price! Nice sturdy build with lots of buttons and overall precise operation. Works very well with flight simulators.

This is my third one because they all broke after a few years, but hey for 25-30$, who care. I just keep buying them. I always kill other pilot with no problem with this baby.Why pay alot when this thing can do the job.

Took some configuring but I have this working well in Battlefield 3. Definitely the best joystick I have owned. I have already recommended this to a friend.

the biggest point about this is that it's got lots of buttons. The ones on the joystick are great, but the buttons on the base are less useful because they're kind of awkward to get at so you're better off binding stuff to your keyboard. In general, it's not super precise, but it gets the job done.

I've had the joystick since it came out and have not had to replace it yet. I have used it to rule the skys in BF1942, BF2, BFV, BF3, BF2 Project reality mod and many more flight games it is great for Any and all aircraft and is priced great for the quality of the stick. I* have never used the software that belongs with the stick I manually calibrate the stick for the game I play most at the time about once every 3-4 months taking a total of about 5 mins. The stick is very durrable ive yanked on that thing in intense dogfights to the point where it should have snaped but nothing happened still works great. Im going to get another 1 for a family member as a gift since it has held up very well for all these years.

A friend needed to fly in the game Wings Of Prey because his older Thrustmaster set wasn't any longer compatible. This Logitech although lacking to his previous setup worked instantly and we were battling in the skies! The feel and play was very good and we found the layout and hand comfort very good...in fact no issue was noticed. For a quick cheap fix this shouldn't go unnoticed.

I'm very impressed by that product.It is automatically recognized and configured to work in Tom Clancy's H.A.W.K (the first one). I assume it's the same for HAWK 2). Anyway, it makes a world of difference in game...compared to flying a jet with a mouse and keyboard. Also, when Battlefield 3 comes out, I'll use this baby to fly jets and bomb the hell out of the enemy bases...I think Joysticks were supported to fly jets in BF2...
