Logitech C170 Webcam
Cons:Grainy photo and videoPoor low-light performance
Pros:Excellent standGood, bassy microphone1024 X 768 as opposed to 640 X 480 Comment:
I'm comparing this to a Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000, which was also on sale for $10 recently. I got this one because it was on sale at the same price but sported 1024 X 768 resolution, a slight upgrade for the same price. However even though you can indeed use 1024 X 768 photo and video, the picture is a lot grainier. Although well-lit subjects come out very bright, this webcam doesn't perform as well as the Microsoft VX-5000 in low light.I must say the stand is excellent, it's kind of like a clamshell that can grab on to just about anything or sit flat and will allow the camera head itself to tilt up and down. The microphone is better than the Microsoft VX-5000's. It's even more sensitive and has a noticeably better bass response. However, overall, I'll stick with the VX-5000. The picture is just too grainy on this one. If I didn't have the VX-5000 I'm sure I'd find this webcam fine though. |
It's a good enough webcam for low budget people. Offers pretty much all the essential stuffs people need. Price matched it down to $30 when I bought it so cant really complain.
