Logitech M570 Wireless Laser Trackball 1XAA
Cons:- cleaning the bearing requires a tool and needs to be done every other week. Can't they design a bearing that self cleans?- the Omron microswitches need contact cleaner applied after a year if the trackball is used daily.
Pros:- Easy to clean- Battery lasts a couple months (four year old rechargables)- fits right hand well- Ball spins smoothly Comment:
I would have given this five stars, but the notorious omron micro-switch oxidation issue is a pain as the trackball needs to be taken apart to be returned to working status. This problem is endemic among all Logitech mice that use these omron micro switches, which is every one I have every owned.Given that, I love this thing for how much easier it is on my arm and hand. Of course, I plan on trying out eye tracking (Steelseries) when it comes out in the fall of 2014, but trackballs are a good stop gap. I would have bought a left handed one if they made it as using your thumb is much easier on your hand, which rests over the entire mouse, then using your fingers to spin a ball.Dump you mice, get this if you use your computer a lot. Our gaming clan made up of older gamers are all moving to these. |

Logitech M570 Wireless Laser Trackball 1XAA
Cons:Generally, with all trackball mice, the dirt from the fingers accumulate under the trackball. Need to clean the build-up out fairly often (I'm OCD with cleanliness of my mouse), but luckily it is designed for easy removal of the ball and easy access for cleaning. If you do this often the mouse will work like a dream. If you don't you might end up writing a negative review about the function of the mouse itself. After 2 years of use the left click button is starting to malfunction. I'm starting to get double clicks with a single click. Pretty certain this is a hardware problem. I've started using the right click as my primary and all seems to be good. I'm chalking this up as ware and tear but thought I'd mention it.
Pros:Finally found a mouse that has saved my wrist. The mouse itself works great, very customizable, great battery life, solid connection at distance from the computer. Comment:
I'm in love with this mouse. While I'm a little bit choked about the two year life I've gotten from it (using it for 4-8 hours pretty much daily), I'll definitely be buying it again. Ultimately, it's stood up to some pretty heavy use. Can't put a price on a healthy wrist, this mouse is worth every penny. |

Comment:
I keep away from regular trackball mice due to the awkward nature of working with the index, middle, and/or ring finger to steer the mouse rather than click. The logitech trackballs, becoming thumb driven, are a lot more intuitive to use and switching between a standard mouse to this one particular is extremely uncomplicated. The overall design and style is comfortable and great to use with a laptop on the go. There is no left hand version of these mice and the newer model, the M570, does not have a wired version. Otherwise, I would give this mouse 5 eggs. |

Fits really well in my hand, even if it is smallish. Awesome battery life - haven't replaced the battery due to the fact buying. Laser sensor makes the trackball extremely sensitive. Incredibly solid create. Simple to clean. Wireless. I've by no means had considerably luck with wireless - like this device - until a blinding flash of the obvious told me to try a line-of-sight method. Haven't had significantly difficulty because. I personal a cat, and the wireless function comes in handy when she tries to sit on my trackball. |

It has higher precision than the earlier trackball (I have both the wired and wireless) as properly as a far greater range. It nonetheless worked 3 rooms away. The receiver is very smaller, so I no longer have to be concerned about tripping more than the wired hockey puck receiver on my laptop any a lot more. The scroll wheel isn't as effortless to push as on the older model and it can be a tiny slippery to choose up due to the fact it's just smooth plastic, but otherwise no complaints. Incredibly pleased Logitech released an additional trackball. I purchased one particular for my husband's new computer and now I'm getting a single for myself. |

Mouse-like really feel. Wireless connection has been flawless. The storage compartment inside the unit is a wonderful concept. Very comfy. Quite nit-picky factor. The edges are so rounded that I have a challenging time choosing it up when I want to move it off my desk.Really, it's flawless. I bought this for my laptop considering that I can't stand the touch pad. I commonly have to use my laptop in the auto and this is the excellent resolution for getting away from the touch pad. |

Getting applied the wired version of this mouse for years, the transition to this model was a welcome practical experience. It has a smoother operation, seemingly greater DPI and "softer" really feel. It operates completely out of the box, so unless you strategy on reassigning some of the buttons there is no set up required (using Windows 7). I would recommend this to each those that are new to trackballs and the die hards nevertheless use the older model. The scroll wheel makes an annoying clicking noise, but it seems to have quieted down some compared to when I initially utilised it. It's nonetheless louder than I like, but it's nto a deal breaker. Not really a con: the forward and back buttons took some getting applied due to their position. Right after about a week of use discovering them came naturally. Like with any trackball, moving from the regular mouse is sort of a discomfort. The tradeoff is in the wrist so to speak. If you are looking at transitioning from the conventional mouse to a track ball this mouse may well be the one particular for you. |

Smooth operation and accuracy even across triple displays. Effortless ball movement. I can even use it with a dry fabric bandage on my thumb, and it doesn't ever slip!I very suggest this trackball! I'd give six eggs if able! None. I bought this to replace my aging Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel which I have had for numerous years. It was acquiring to the point exactly where the ball kept sticking, even with meticulous cleaning and polishing of the ball and the three friction points it rode in. With my dry fingers and thumb it was regularly slipping and not moving the cursor, causing me to have to wet my thumb repeatedly, just like some individuals need to do when flipping via dry paper pages.I was a small hesitant to attempt this one, mainly because some other reviewers mentioned the ball seeming rough and a tiny sticky at initially. But am I ever glad I bought this! :) I did notice a small bit of resistance in the ball the initial handful of hours I applied it, but right after that it began to get smoother and smoother. I have been employing it daily for about five weeks now, and it has turn out to be so effortless to move the ball that I feel no resistance whatsoever! It just glides to wherever I place it. |

Cons:-would be better with a cord for fast paced gaming
Pros:-Long lasting-smooth feel-customizable buttons-better control then I've ever had with a traditional mouse-takes up less room/no need for mouse pad-good battery life Comment:
I love the Trackball it blows regular mice out of the water. I swear even in games I'm able to pin point my targets much easier. The only qualms I have about it is the ball sometimes gets dirt on it which you need to rub off, and I would prefer one with a cord or a gaming version. |

It does almost everything a trackball does, with arguably better tracking. It has fairly decent variety, and you've got to love the tiny unifying receiver. It has quite decent battery life, and a storage spot for the unifying receiver in the battery compartment. I guess the adjustment period from a normal mouse, would be deemed a con. The signal strength can by shoddy when plugged into the back of a personal computer. Essentially, you want the receiver to be facing the direction of the track ball. Not actually any various than any other wireless device. A single of the major difficulties with trackballs has been clogging rollers. Any dirt on your hands gets on the ball and gets stuck on the ball rollers. Just pop the ball out and clean them off and it's very good to go, although. I've been employing Logitech trackballs due to the fact the mid 90s. The design and style hasn't changed extremely significantly in all that time. One particular of the points that it took a bit to get utilised to was the transform in ball colour from red to blue. This is my 1st venture into wireless trackballs, so I don't have something to compare it to. As far as comparing it to normal Trackman Wheels, the greatest difficulty I've had with them is that the cords would always mess up somehow. The points would just go dead till you unplug and replug, and adjust the cable. My final one ended up receiving utilised so much that the left click barely worked any longer. You'd have to use unnecessary force to click, and even more to drag-click (which was nonetheless practically impossible.) Regardless of this, I have absolutely nothing but faith in Logitech's items, and I will continue getting them. I suggest this version to everyone. |

Fantastic mouse excellent range tested at ten feet so far. This mouse is also perfect for gaming. They ought to have sepearted the mouse buttons a bit a lot more like the older trackballs they had been designed for 3 fingers. This one appears to be for two fingers. Im positive they could make a four button mouse for all four fingers possibly add a button below the ball it would be great for gaming. |

Great style, great size. 1 typical AA battery. looking to acquire an additional one, as I want one particular for my workplace desk also, I have been lugging it back and forth for two weeks now. not bluetooth (why do they even make these wireless that aren't bluetooth?)Couple minor hiccups with my cursor.. but if I unplug & plug the adapter back in it will reset and function fine in World of Warcraft on my Mac pro. I think it has to be a driver point.. Never had an situation on my primary game Windows7-based technique. I was and am a Huge fan of the MS Trackball Optical which isn't becoming made any longer. This is the closest issue to that one I have found. And I have been seeking for over close to ten years. Only explanation I would change from this mouse is bluetooth version comes out or if MS re-tends to make that old trackball. |

Enjoy my trackball....wouldn't go back to a standard mouse if you gave it to me for totally free... none When once more speedy delivery..gotta really like that Newegg. |
My experience with the trackball was very positive at first. I quickly got used to controlling the pointer with my thumb and it removed the stress off my wrist. It was good for office usage, but it was harder to draw patterns in Photoshop or Illustrator. For gaming it was decent for MMORPGs and I got used to it for other games too but it felt like a handicap in shooting games. After a year the mouse clicks became faulty. For me it was the right click because of how often I move my camera in games with the right click. Other reviews have faulty left clicks so there seems to be a durability issue for that mouse. No rough or hard clicks was ever done to the mouse as I was aware of the issue. It still broke no matter how gentle I was with the mouse.I had to clean the trackball every days. Maybe its because my thumbs sweats or oils after usage but ball gets slower and jams until I do that daily cleaning with a towel paper. Forget the Doritos your hand needs to be clean.Wireless is completely useless for a stationary mouse. The latency is very minimal but can be felt on very fast actions.
