USB receiver is tiny which means you can leave it plugged in all the time in the laptop. The major drawback of the mouse is its lack of a middle click button. The wheel button is a mechanical switch that toggles between smooth scrolling and geared scrolling. A workaround is to map the "search" button below the wheel as the middle-click function.
