I own 2 of these fans, They both work great, im using duelcore 2.3ghz chips, they dont make alot of heat in the first place but this fan keeps then completely cool and its quiet. Its a bit tuff to get on, but easy to figure out. |

Does NOT fit a socket 939 Mobo as advertised - at least not my older ASUS A8N-SLI. The saving grace of this product is that it was cheap - so cheap that I wasn't afraid to remove the fan and TRIM THE FINS in order to make it fit in the original plastic attachment seat border. Luckily I bought it to replace a unit with a siezed fan at work, so I was able to lock it in on a surface grinder & take about 2.5mm (.10'') per end off nice and evenly. I bought it to replace the original unit, also a Masscool, that came with the original system so I've no idea why it neither fit the original seat nor came with a replacement designed to fit. Once trimmed, it fit in OK, pre-applied conductor grease was nice, temp seems OK. |

This fan does not fit an AM2 socket properly- on the BioStar MOBO anyway. The retention clips are slightly short and do not properly fit over the clips on the motherboard. I succeeded in attaching the fan, but the locking lever was very difficult to install. I was afraid I was going to break something trying to get it to lock and once locked it would be difficult to unlock. According to SpeedFan, my AMD Athlon is running at 37C after adding an additional case fan(39C by itself). Thermal gel was preapplied. |

Little difficult getting attached to the AM2 socket. The clips seem a little short and took som creative bending to make fit. Thermal gel also pre-applied. Works as described. |

This is a great inexpensive CPU cooling fan. Installation was very easy. I have used 6 of these so far for builds. Not one failure. The sound is acceptable. The only thing I would recommend is cleaning off the factory applied thermal paste and replacing with a higher quality thermal paste. Thanks Tiger! |

This fan does not fit an AM2 socket properly. The retention clips are slightly short and do not properly fit over the clips on the motherboard. I succeeded in attaching the fan, but the locking lever will not move. (Permantly locked.) According to SpeedFan, my AMD Athlon is running at 39C. Therefore, it is doing a good job. Thermal gel was preapplied. |

I had an extremely bad time with this device, firstly even though mounting it looked like it would be easy, specially with the grease preapplied, it turned into a headache quickly when the bracket that came with it to hold it in place didn't reach the bracket on the mother board. Secondly, once I got the bracket finally latched, after starting up the computer the temperature of my cpu skyrocketed when tested through Everest ultimate edition. I had to quit the test within 15 seconds of starting it to keep my computer from frying itself. My idle temps all seem fine but as soon as I put any stress on it the temps were off the wall. Unless you have a older model computer I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. My stock fan that camp with my PC is cooling better then this one. |

Installs easily and quickly, runs quietly, cools my CPU nicely (AMD Athlon 64 X2) which, admittedly, isn't much stressed by e-mail, graphics, and music apps. This brand and style is the third I've bought and installed on the six or seven PCs I've built from scratch, and I've never had one fail or need replacing. It's a good, solid, reliable and inexpensive cooler for those of us who don't need the heat-removal capabilities gaming computers require. What's not to like? |

Seems to work great for me. Running AM2 5000+ Dual 2.6GHz Black box and it keeps it steady around 21C. Not sure why my temps are so different from the others, but very happy. No overclocking for me. I need long term stability. |

This cpu cooler is for average pc use. Definitely not something you would want to overclock your cpu with. My idle temp with this cooler is about 39 C and up to around 44 under load. This is tolerable, but not great. I have an Amd 5000 Black edition which I am running at stock speed in a home theatre pc. |

I have purchased 3 of the in recent months with different systems. I had no problems until my last system (AMD x2 6000) when installing temp rise over 70c and shut down. I read other review stating it was the fault of the fan but I think it was the case and power supply which was extremely hot to the touch. I took the cover off the case and tried to reinstall OS and temp was around 46c. |
got this fan with a new CPU and Mobo. Once the unit was all assembled I started the install process for the operating system. to make this a short story, the fan stopped working, the cpu overheated and the system wouldn't even finish startup before it crashed. disconnected and reconnected the fan at the mobo. it started working again. still using it a few days later without it stopping again. I'll give it a while longer before I replace it.
