Nice HTPC board
Comment:
This board has worked out well in my first HTPC build. It has been up and running for almost two weeks now with no problems. The onboard video does the job for now. No problems getting smooth 1080p playback with local files but it can be pushed to its limit when multitasking with streming fullscreen HD content. Having a PCIe port allows easy expandability. I was concerned about using headphones connected to the front speaker jack while using the HDMI output to a TV. The audio controls allow much flexibility with the ability to mute audio to the TV and route it through the front audio jack. The only downside I've encountered so far is the lack of fan headers on the motherboard. There is only one header for a system fan and I would've liked to see at least two. The BIOS has some nice features on controlling the fans as this board is meant for entertainment and low noise. Mine's paired with a X2 250, 4GB DDR3 and a 60GB SSD and it has worked out well with room to grow. |

This board is great. I threw a amd Phenom 2 955 BE 3.2GHz in it and 4 GB of corsair xms ddr3 then installed windows 7 ultimate and everything worked smooth, been up and running for almost 2 days no problems. Very satisfied. |

MSI 785GM-E65 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-4 of the 5 sata connectors face the back of the board-updating the BIOS was a problem
Pros:-good build quality and performance-nice manual,-unlocks cores (if they're good) Comment:
I got a small mATX case (Antec NSK1480)which is very nice, but this mobo has the sata connectors facing right up against the hard disk compartment, so you cannot use them. Make sure your case will have room to plug into these. There is 1 other sata that faces up, thats the only 1 I could use.-updating the BIOS was a problem, each update technique got an update failure (floppy, USB, bios M-flash facility), somehow one of these must have worked cause I did get to the current bios, even though every time I tried it got a failure.Otherwise, it performs very well, and is quick to startup. |

THIS BOARD IS GREAT.I PAIRED IT WITH AMD PHENOM II X2 550 BE, BD-DRIVE, SAPPHIRE 3850HD, 4GB CRUCIAL DDR3, IN AN APEVIA X-PACK, WIN VISTA 32BIT...THIS THING ROCKS. THE WINDOWS EXPERIENCE RATING IS 5.9 ACCROSS THE BOARD. EVERY GAME RUNS ON HIGH SETTINGS WITH AA 4X. DIDN'T UNLOCK THE OTHER CORES ON THE 550 BUT DON'T NEED TO. AWSOME DELIVERY AND AWSOME PRODUCTS. THANKS TIGER. |

MSI 785GM-E65 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:nothing so far
Pros:cheapnice connectivity onboard(HDMI, Toslink, etc)can unlock phenom II's? Comment:
got this mobo to go with a phenom 550 and to unlock its cores, which it did successfully, unfortunately the video card i was gonna use was fried, but we soon found out the onboard video with 512Mb allocated could play nazi zombies at low graphics, so the lan was not hindered |
