This is a two week in operation overview, so it’s a little early but…but…for the cash, this motherboard is the bomb. At its price variety, its versatility is unmatched to any other motherboard on the industry. I have been an Asus/Intel fan for a lot of years, but MSI/AMD setups are beginning to get my attention. I like getting the flexibility in each the CPU socket variety and CPU form, it makes for effortless upgrades. Its top rated capabilities: On board overclocking, and simple core unlocking is what sets this board above the rest. I strongly suggest this motherboard for the average builder. None however. Kudos to Newegg for their really rapidly AND free shipping. They have been creating improvements in this location.

This board is good and speedy. constructed in overclocking technique with ten, 15 and even 30% overclocking. solid construct, heat sync's preserve both North and South Bridge cool. A lot of USB slots - 6 on the rear and 3 internal pins. fantastic for a gaming rig! also all AMD sockets obtainable, for a doable upgrade later. The Audio ports on the back for HD surround sound is a tiny strange, rather of obtaining the normal Left appropriate and so on. it has all front, all rear, and so on, but Realtek HD audio manager fixed that. Fairly very good board for the value. well worth it.

Effortless install. Fantastic capabilities. Appreciate the onboard eSATA and gigabit ethernet. takes my socket AM2 (even though it doesnt say it has support) and is prepared when i upgrade to a socket AM3 quad-core.Prior set up of Win7 Pro x64 booted proper up and installed all of the drivers automatically. Didn't need to reload my entire OS. Nice!Onboard video is far better than most, but doesn't evaluate to a committed card. Nonetheless, I am making use of it to power my third monitor and it operates like a charm. Substantially much better than my last onboard video. Has VGA, DVI and HDMI output. RAM DIMMS are too close to processor. I have an arctic cooler 64 and my ram barely snuck into the leftmost DIMM. Beware if you have a large CPU cooling unit.SATA connectors are in a a bit of a difficult place if you have a huge PCI-E video board. Fortunately, MSI stacked them sideways otherwise i wouldn't have been capable to connect something. If you are looking for a new mobo for an AM2 of AM2+ CPU and dont want to break the bank this is a good buy. I wasn't prepared to upgrade my CPU to a quad core but this thing worked out of the box with my socket AM2 Athlon 64 X2 4800+ even although the box does not say it has AM2 support. Nevertheless it only supports DDR2 RAM, but I had 4 gigs of that already.I normally dont overclock my components so I can't really comment on how effectively it functions but the BIOS has a decent amount of settings for OC and even a tough switch on the board for upping your CPU clock.

Was cheap. Support was easy to get ahold of. Board began to blue screen promptly right after I updated the OS and tried to test Standby. It appeared to be a memory concern. On the other hand windows MEMTEST came back clean everytime. MSI stated to return it for a different a single.Newegg created me pay shipping to return a thing that was defective. I've never ever had to pay for return shipping just before unless it was an error on my part. What's upwith that Newegg? After trying to figure out what the difficulty was with my system, i determined to get a distinct board as an alternative of exchanging for the similar board. Went with different manufacturer and the replacement that I got operates erfectly with all the identical elements.

Good combo deal! I got this board with the AMD Sempron 140 for 79 and some modify and was capable to unlock to dual core processor. Used the easy overclock switch to overclock to 3.1. using four GB of gskill memory and windows 7 64 - bit. No cons for this setup at this time. I am using a 400 watt corsair PS and a ATI 5770 with no troubles at all. I feel fortunate I was capable to build this full Pc for much less than 500 dollars. This was by far the easiest build to date. I loaded the Crysis game just to see how it would do and is incredibly playable at 1650 by 1050. not bad for a < 躔 machine.

Steady, simple setup, excellent layout. AMD Overdrive I would very propose for setting an 'overclocking beginning point', you click, let it go for awhile, reboot if important, and you have your starting OC for further testing if will need be. This motherboard replaced an older Aus board (that failed right after a year, no more SATA recognition) with an NVidia chipset and I'd propose the AMD chipset hands-down (as Overdrive is incorporated with that). For a starter or an overclocker, excellent board either way. Won't make my coffee for me. I'm shocked with this board. It's a significantly less expensive board, but so far has established very stable, easy to tweak, you can see alot of believed went into the layout, and it's packed with attributes. MSI, just about every item I've bought of theirs so far so far, has verified to be a winner.

straightforward set up, recognizes DDR2_800 8GB upon set up (no removing a couple of dimms for initial OS set up). Really steady motherboard anlog onboard sound is the worst I have heard -- ever. No energy-on by keyboard or mouse All round this is a very very good board i really like it, but it has a couple of troubles - namely onboard sound, and yes i know how to configure it, it was very low volume no matter how I adjusted it in W7, perhaps my distinct board or possibly poor shielding I don't know. Onboard optical or RCA, or HDMI was wonderful. but I use analog when gaming so I had to set up an X-Fi and of course now it's excellent =) The mobo has so many nice features, the reset buttons, clear cmos and so forth... it ran my propus x4635 @ three.36 steady, with the 15% OC swtich on the mobo, and now I have 965 BE operating near four.. Darn very good mobo with backup ATI DVI W/HDMI shoudl i be amongst gaming cards and will need to use it. Nice to be in a position to reuse my DDR2 800 i had on my Giga M61P-S3 mobo. Also negative you can buy this at neegg anymore also.

No issues at all - incredibly simple to overclock with my AMD Athlon II X3 440 Rana 3.0GHz - got three.45GHz easily with no problems and extremely steady. Also, MSI tends to make it so straightforward to update the BIOS - just open their personal system on the installation disc, and let the BIOS update itself! None I was searching for a DDR2 motherboard because I had 6MB ram and didn't want it to sit around in a drawer. I'll upgrade the RAM some day, but for the majority of games and programs I run DDR2 is fine with me

I bought this board to replace 1 that exploded recently (resistor caught fire, who knew!) The board has been operating just fine, no issues yet. Backplate match the case kinda funky... But I was capable to get it to stick soon after a few minutes. Phenom II two.five Ghz, eight GB RAM.The SATA ports had been unique to what I'm employed to, the cords plug in horizontally to the board, as an alternative of perpendicular to the prime.

Low Pricefour DDR SlotsGreat BIOS with ACC HelpI paired this up with an Athlon II X3 440 CPU and AData 2x2 DDR2. Was capable to easily run at three.45GHz at stock voltage. Really smooth. The memory holds me back from carrying out much additional for overclocking.I then switched the CPU out to a Phenom II X2 555BE C3 stepping chip, and was able to simply unlock the added 2 cores. I am nonetheless setting this up to get the best steady configuration, as the 3rd core has been giving me a little difficulty at stock VCore. I am at the moment running steady at three.6GHz at 1.43V VCore. So far, that seems to be the most stable config. CPU temp running OCCT seems to be about 48C employing a Xigmatek S1283 cooler. At any price, a really fantastic mobo - love the reset buttons - just wish they have been on the back panel.Config:MSI 785GT-E63 moboAMD Phenom II X2 555BE (unlocked to X4 B55) @ 3.6GHz 1.43V VCoreAData DDR2 800 4Gb Dual Channel KitPowercolor HD8750 GPUWindows 7 Specialist x64 Did not unlock my Athlon II X3 440 Rana - really not a con, despite the fact that I have not attempted unlocking this chip using any other motherboards Newegg rocks as usual.

I had to upgrade my dad's personal computer method when he bought an AMD Phenom II x4 920 CPU off a pal. He believed he could use his older motherboard. This board functions like a charm. I didn't have to update the bios or make any adjustments. I even used the constructed in overclocking switch to bumb up the CPU speed by ten%. Just waiting a tiny longer to try 15% then 20%.

Generally I stick to my two favored Mobo makers that start with A , G but the fine photos on Newegg enticed me to try this board. MSI's construct quality looked like it had seriously improved. When I took it from the box I was not disappointed but when I started to bench test the elements before assembling the new program a issue surfaced. The board would not run the RAM in dual channel mode. The feature was grayed out in the BIOS. I've been constructing systems for myself and other individuals for 18+ years so I know how to trouble shoot. I tested the RAM in an additional board and also tried various RAM. Sadly it took longer than a month to get about to creating the program so it was previous Neweggs return window. MSI's consumer assistance ran me through the settings, had me flash the Bios existing and also wanted the board tested with a recognized good CPU. I did; it was not the CPU memory controller. They had me ship their board back to them at my expense and sent one more board that was worse then the 1 I sent in. The new board would nonetheless not let dual channel but also now all voltage adjustments had been gray and not selectable. That meant I could not run the RAM at the 1066mhz it was spec for simply because it needed two.1v. Was this somebody's returned board recycled to me? If you are going to take a possibility on an MSI product test it thoroughly before the Newegg window is up. Help told me they would seek advice from with the residence workplace and get back to me but that was more than five weeks ago and here my project sits gathering dust. Nice board with almost everything you expect to see. Ran suitable out of the box-even booted and ran with the Win 7 os from my intel load on my previous machine(Foxconn ELA and Q6600) The eight GB of OCZ ddr2 worked fine as well. At the moment working with the simple overclock dip switches set at 15% OC, runs fantastic at three.7 GHZ and transform. The processor is AMD Phenom x4 3.2 AM3 socket... Only 3 headers for fans onboard and I have five 120mm fans, had to use a splitter. Bois nevertheless has a few settings that are not explained. All boards have some "enables butternut attachment" settings but give no clue if it is useful, legacy and so forth lol. Only 1 PCIx 16 but I under no circumstances bought off on SLI, way also pricey.... I like the board, in win7 I get 7.6 on mem, 7.four proccessor-HD still runs five.9 like each and every other board ive had...and its a 15k WD Vraptor. Didnt use the onboard video so i cant comment-onboard HD realtek rocks as usual....RIP Soundblaster.

Appears good. Lots of characteristics. Has possible. BSODs no matter what I did. Attempted three distinct varieties of DDR2 memory: OZC, Important and Patriot. Attempted rising the voltages. The board is very picky when it comes to memory. I spent many days trying to stable the board but was not worth it in the finish. Purchased this board as a mobo/cpu combo from the local Micro center for 贄. Returned it and got an i3 2100 with an Asus mobo. I will in all probability never ever acquire MSI once more. None of their boards have ever been stable for me. I wanted a DDR2 machine considering that I had further 4G of memory, but sooner or later bought DDR3 for the Intel board.Be certain you have the absolute most compatible memory to go with this board. I didnt find any and all the forums I visited, didn't provide a viable solution. Be cautious if you go this route. I had negative luck but maybe you'll be fine.I am now operating steady with an Intel/Asus H67 setup. This is the initially time I employed an MSI board in a create. So far, it's been wonderful! The build is just for standard usage, so I'm just operating it at the factory settings. Need to have come with a couple of far more SATA cables, but still a excellent deal for the value.
