Received a “Dear valued customer” response from MSI to my prior assessment posted Dec.9. Kinda makes you think maybe they genuinely do want to resolve issues following all. In the first go-around assistance ran into a dead end when they realized it wasn't a user error. They promised to contact headquarters and get back to me but failed to do so. But in their response to my critique they were offering a direct e-mail connection to “get the dilemma resolved”. All rightee then! In the second go-round they asked all the very same questions as the very first and ran via the exact same procedures once more but this time they did get a response from HQ: obtain a different set of RAM modules following already trying two different confirmed excellent sets, and if that doesn't help obtain another processor immediately after attempting two known very good AM3 processors. It seems the Dear Leader at HQ does not permit fault to be located at MSI. If you are contemplating getting this item feel of it as gambling. MSI has the cosmetics down but the advanced BIOS features (on the two boards I dealt with) had been problematic. Test the board completely before the Newegg thirty day return window is up. If you have trouble immediately after that don't bother with MSI's RMA approach. You will be placing great dollars soon after bad. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Client,We would like to apologize for the concern you have seasoned with this distinct mb. Please email me directly through usersupport2@msicomputer.com your mb's serial number and your complete contact details, subject heading "EAH785GT". Definitely no issues for a Windows 7 32 bit set up utilizing a 5050e. Create and OS install took only a couple of hours with nary a hiccup. Not a lot of USB ports on the back if you don't have a case with alternate inputs. No firewire, but I already had a card. |

Price tag, Newegg's quick shipping, onboard video as backup if discrete card fails, absolutely free shipping (at the time), fantastic sound for on-board audio. This motherboard supplied me with the most challenging hair-pulling computer software installion I have ever seasoned (Windows XP Pro). For the very first time ever creating a technique, I had to call a Mobo tech help. Together, we still good difficulty putting in the RAID/AHCI drivers and possessing everything work accurately when Window was up and operating. After all this, the built-in Gb NIC "drops" connection randomly and ties up the CPU cycles forcing restart. Shifting cables, uninstalling, re-setting up and updating drivers has made zero distinction. This has been one particular challenging board with which to operate. This is my second new MSI motherboard and I have had problems with each. I am a computer constructing and tweaking hobbiest with a broad exposure to desktop Computer components. It was a stunner for me to have such difficulty with MSI and twice at that. To be fair to MSI, moving up to Windows 7 Pro created the approach of installing computer software drivers much easier. Its a fantastic replacement for people that still need a am2+ motherboard like me and is atx which tends to make it cooler and more stable than the micro atx. Cannot control case fans, runs them at total speed and the cpu fan is generally running rapid even with its fan target selection in the bios. There overclocking program is a joke |

Replaced a negative board in my computer system with this right now - Windows 7 had no qualms about it! Has effortless OC switches on the board and LEDs displaying which power stage your CPU is in. Also, it lowered a lot of clutter in my board, as it does not need tons of energy connections to operate :)All round, the ideal board I've purchased for the value. None! |

I don't personal this board, but want folks who don't know a lot about O/C or technique creating to know that the 2nd stick of DDR2-three may not perform unless you bump the voltage up from stock a bit, considering the newer sticks demand much more and given the predominance of unworthy energy supplies. Mine calls for 2.two volts, won't boot at stock or anyplace close to it.Check and double check your timings. Update your bios. Be smarter! I've owned a number of MSi boards, hardly a con amongst them.Good organization, great reputation. Price is never ever a legit con. Never had a negative motherboard in maybe 50 tries, so I believe I'm undertaking anything right. Human error FTL, I guess. |

Low cost board, can unlock second core, so I hear. MB will not post. I have tried everything I can feel of. MB is paired with AMD Sempron 140, a single Vital Rendition 2GB DDR 800, WD 500 GB Caviar Black, LG SATA DVD drive, and a Raidmax Tornado situation with 420 watt PSU. Installed it all, with memory in DIMM 1, and power comes on, fans spin, but nothing is output to video. Utilizing onboard video. Tried all 3 video outputs (RGB, DVI and HDMI). Tried external working card, no dice. Then removed motherboard from situation to rule out electrical brief, removed challenging drive and DVD drive, identical challenge. Tried unique, identified-working memory, no fix. Tried all DIMM slots, didn't help. Tried various power provide, absolutely nothing. Only factors hooked up to motherboard outside of situation had been power, memory, CPU and RGB. 24 pin and four pin all plugged in. No post codes or beeps had been heard. When hard drive and DVD drive were in they appeared to spin up. I am quite frustrated. I don't know what to do but return the motherboard for another. The only thing I can assume is that it is either a undesirable motherboard or bad CPU. I took the CPU out, looked for bent pins, there had been none. I have tried e-mailing usersupport2@msi.com from 2 distinct accounts, and e-mail fails to go thru, recipient rejected. Wow. I tried Rendition mem and GSkill mem, no luck. Quite disappointing. Maybe I'll attempt other memory, but I am stumped. I have assembled numerous systems, occsionally hit bumps in the road, but at some point solved them. Not this time. Wonder if I'm the only one with complications with this MB. Guess I should RMA. |

- Feature heavy! Some great useful capabilities that I have not skilled on any Asus or Gigabyte board in my many years of pc constructing.- Overlclocking switch (Haven't utilized it but positive it is just like the other mobo manufactures out there who have this option in BIOS but no external switch).- Actual Reset, Energy, ClrCMOS switches ON the motherboard. Now that is one of my quite a few gripes with mobo's is that finding the CMOS port and the jumper. I commonly have to sit with the battery out for 2-5 minutes. I uncover this convienant!- Worked on boot...that is usually a plus. - 1 Sata port is facing forward although the rest facing to the side. Mainly because I have a tiny situation at the moment the fit is challenging and too snug to function with. Had to pull the hard disk trays forward in order to position the SATA cable.- I have an older Thermaltake CPU heatsink (can't recall the model particularly) but it is huge. The CPU socket is actually closer to the memory modules that the heatpipes from my CPU cooler touch my memory. I haven't looked to see if the memory could be seated in the "blue" but nevertheless, if I occupied memory in the black section...not cool because my headsink has to sit farther off to the side of my actual CPU. I had to initially set some BIOS selections for principal boot disk and setting memory to a 1ɅɆ:X setting to enable 1066MHz bandwidth. Didn't have to change memory voltage with no difficulties in Linux. I wanted to make a note to customers even so! I required this board since I necessary the onboard graphics since I was shooting for my 3Ware 9650SE RAID card that is set for a 4x slot but to use the PCI-E 16x slot (video slot but I use onboad vid). There are sayings that SOME mobo suppliers use affordable settings on their PCI-E 16x slots for only able to use 16 lanes or 1 or just 16. I thought backwards compatible was Always there using backwards compatibility but isn't the case from what I have heard. Nevertheless! This board enables the card to operate (I reiterate my RAID card is a 4x slot which worked in the 16x slot). So this and the onboard video is my prime PROS of this board. NOTE: DON'T RAID WITH THE WD-EARS!!!!!!!!!!!! |

ş Pro is that it booted my win7x64 from my old board instantly with difficulties. Old board was completely distinct chipset (asus m2n32-sli wireless edition). The simple oc switch performs wonderful, set it to 20% oc and it has my phenom x4 9850be running at 3ghz like i had manually set on my last board. Soon after performing alot of searching to replace my dead 1, this is the only 1 I could locate that would take am2 and am3 cpus, uses ddr2 with 4 slots so I could use my very same 8gigs that i had, is full atx size, had digital audio out, and on board video wit hdmi in situation i need a backup video source. I am definitely pleased. so far Immediately after reading the other reviews and saw that 2 other individuals had been in a position to boot up their current windows installations with this board I decided I would give it a shot even though I was skeptical but it booted correct up, installed the most recent drivers and bios and have no difficulties. I did have to reinstall geforce drivers for vid card. My heatsink (zalman CNPS9700-NT) fits but you couldnt slide a piece of paper amongst it and the ram, My ram has built in cooling fins that make it about double the height, but I thought it might help somebody to know that in advance who may possibly have a bigger cooler, it is a tight fit. There are 4 blue leds above the ram that are pretty vibrant. The built in power/reset/clear cmos buttons are a great feature. |

seems like a high quality constructed motherboard, replaced an asrock motherboard in a price range pc i have built.bios is pretty good, and it seems like all of the capacitors/connections on the motherboard are secure.you are also in a position to "overclock" with this motherboard, took a two.9 ghz phenom up to three.1 no issues, with a two degree Celsius raise. sata port placement is not the greatest, it may be mainly because of my situation (antec 300 i believe :/ ) but among the sata ports, graphics card, power supply cables, and challenging drives. its actually tricky to plug factors in on the bottom finish of the motherboard. nice piece of equip. firs time i have applied MSI, and it will not be the last. |

this is the fourth MB I have ever utilized in my life time. it keeps its royal blood - easy to hook up and operate at each and every 1st time. the 8G memory capacity and HDMI outlet are genuinely what I want. Running smoothly with win xp 64 on my 42 in LCD Tv connected with HDMI cable and display the text on screen is significantly sharper than a different MB (same value range) does. it took me a tiny whilst to repair the HDMI audio output concern by employing third party HDMI driver. ( the lastest HDMI driver offered by MSI website doesn't support HDMI audio output). the graphic of initially frame of beginning screen looks silly on my 42 in LCD Tv |

A excellent solid and stable feature-rich motherboard, onboard graphics with DVI and HDMI. Supports 125W processors which includes X6, which is a quite nice bonus for a DDR2 board. Board looks excellent as nicely, doesn't look like a reject from Lego Land. Lots of characteristics to overclock and unlock cores with under the Cell Menu are really handy. Width of the board isn't common ATX size. resulting in the edge flexing just about every time you plug in energy, RAM and IDE, and only 1 hole on that edge for a plastic help, when there ought to be two (top correct corner hole is MIA). BIOS updates are a bit wonky, saying they fixed the board reporting a temperature studying that doesn't exist, which is nonetheless there ྫቯ bios). Onboard LAN is problematic as properly, doesn't function until the method completely warms up(after Pc being off for 6-8 hours in a cold climate). MSI's Forum assistance is fairly undesirable overall as well. Overall although these complaints are minor, and I have been very content with the stability of this board after it warms up. HD 4200 onboard graphics 2. GTexels for Texture Fillrate and two. GPixels for Pixel Fillrate make this about on par with a GeForce four Ti 4600 or ATI 9600XT. Trying to game on this would be in-advisable.At the end of the day would I get this motherboard once more? I'd have to say yes, all of my complaints are largely minor annoyances and are easy to live with, just have to be careful when installing components. |
A single of the handful of am2+ / am3 ATX MOBO that new egg has. Dimm1 and Dimm2 did not operate out of the get go. It would not even post if those slots have been filled. Right after days and days of messing with the ram timings, voltage, replacing ram, and so forth, and so forth i just decided it wasn't worth the time anymore and that i would just use the dimm three and four as an alternative due to the fact i was just making use of it for a media center. The rapidly effortless OC switch is a joke. Soon after the 50th BSOD from turning it on i just gave up messing with it and turned the issue off.For some cause i got a Europe edition while it was not pointed out anyplace on newegg. the manual that came with it was also very unhelpful. When i 1st got it i installed a Phenom II 940 deneb and is what i was testing the OC switch with.
